hey guys,

just wondering why skyline owners dont wave to each other anymore??

there used to be a time when u could go in to newcastle and everyone waved to everyone else in a skyline, aussie 31s through to 34 gtrs. went down to newi today and saw a few lines' gave them a wave, and not one waved back except for a black 33gtst with a veilside front bar, we had a bit of play up the hill past bar beach. but that was it. i saw 6 imports and 2 aussie 31s.

i was in my 33, wine red, 400r kit and gold work meisters. and got snobbed by a p plater in a 31 silo.

whats goin on!

cheers

:( , Chris

Its not just Newy...

In the last 18 months of driving around 230km/week I'd say I've seen a total of 3 other skyline drivers acknowledge my old '32. I just can' be arsed anymore either.

In the Inner SW of Sydney its better to look full hard (or something to that effect) in yo' ride apparently, so thats pretty much the style I drive with now.

Have had a wave from a yellow 34 on Parra rd, a 32 on Canterbury Rd & a fellow 32 sedan driver on a 1.5 lane street near Newtown IGA.

.

hehe last weekend i was coming home to newy and this guy an a maroon 32gtr basically jumped out of his window and waved was quite funny actually.. but then again i saw a yellow 34gtr old guy saw me but kept his eyes on the road.. no acknolegement.. oh well

oohaahGTR, i saw you at the forshore. gave you a wave, u must not have seen me. i always see you down there when im there. your car stands out like dogs balls, specially with the carbon bonnet and boot. haha

when i get my kit and bonnet and wing, i should stand out a bit more too.

cheers

ULOOOK, I saw you about two weeks back in Newy on a Thursday night.

I was behind you where that dude in the dark green 180 did a massive drift onto Hunter st.

Nice car you got there.

Anyway, I've only had my 'line for about a month now, and the first thing I noticed from other drivers was the wave.

Freaked me out the first time, but now I make sure that if I don't initiate it, I definately respond to it!

The ULOOOK plates just suited the car I guess, I dunno tho it definatly suits the car.

The colour is custom as I have had the car resprayed. I believe it was Nismo Blue but who knows. The headlights havent been painted but they are dark for some reason.

I seen that huge drift that was crazy, crazy person hahahaha !!!

I never ever drive my car so I never get to wave. If you see us round give us a wave tho :P

See ya

Krystle

Hey, just wondering where some of you Newy guys and gals are at?

Being new to the 'lines (1 month and loving it!), I've seen quite a few around but there doesn't seem to be that many people on here from up this way.

I'm in Rathmines at the moment (until we can find a 4 bed house with a garage that will let us have a dog), and I know I've seen a white 33 around Morisset and a silver 33 around Toronto way.

    • http://calfinn.com.au/product/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c   I have this and fits under a S3 33 GTR with no issues. Purchased in 2009 and not one issue. It was $950 back then. Not cheap but something so important isn’t worth cheaping out on.
    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
