yes it is true, for all the people who said 'noway' where you guys there if not the shush. 16th march test and tune.

yea sorry champ but I think there has been some kind of mix up. This car would not be street registered and even if it isnt, I still am skeptical of the time. 8.07 is redicuously fast and I think a car that can run that would have been receiving more than a little publicity. A car that can run that time woud have seen the track numerous times for testing and someone would have let leak about it by now.

Besides all this 8.07 and a street car dont mix.

ACTUALLY!!! YOUR ALL WRONG HE COULD HAVE DONE IT!!!! I SAW HIM!

wanna know how? well read on. There one day lived a litte boy called Johnny! He had a fast 32..it ran a 11 but that didnt satisfy little johnny he wanted more. Problem being he didnt have any money. So what he did was, go to willowbank for a test n tune. Little johnny knew from experience that a false start didnt affect your time so the next time he went he false started by 3 seconds, whilst the red light came up noone took notice of this and just stood astounded at the 9.08 little johnny had just run...standing proud little johnny fled the scene in hope that noone had realised what he did. WELL I SAW YOU JOHNNY you lying little biatch...

This story may or may not be true!

but in all seriousness this is probably what happend....its probably a 10second 32 or something and he got ancy jumped the start by way to much...the clock doesnt stop for false starts and your time still appears on the board..the other person just always wins and it comes up with false start at the bottom of your slip.

Negative Ghostrider...

Even if you redlight, the ET is still correct... The time starts counting from when you leave the staging lights, regardless of whether the green is on or not...

It's simply someone with farked eyes...

    • Keeping in mind that for most people this is a week to month long job!
    • Its also worth mentioning that 30 years after it left the factory and god knows how many missed oil changes since, there is every possibility that one or more lifters are ticking because they are sticky/gummed up. To resolve that you need to pull the cams then pull each lifter, disassemble, clean, reassemble, soak in oil and re-install, and they should come up good as new.
    • What air filter are you running? Is it a panel filter in the stock air box, or a pod filter? Is the air filter the type that is oiled?   If you unplug the IACV, what rpm does the engine idle at?
    • Reading through the engine service manual their advice is do a cylinder balance test. Unplug one injector at a time and see if the idle drops a consistent RPM. You can also do this using a Consult cable which is easier. They also call for unplugging the power transistor, then with the engine off and the fuel rail unhooked from the manifold verifying that you have good fuel flow (even injection, no dripping/leaks, etc) when you twist the CAS by hand. Also verify the spark by pulling the spark plugs and allowing the plugs to ground and turning the CAS by hand. I would also start doing the sensor checks and idle valve checks in service manual. Make sure the MAF tests reasonably, the intake air regulator is sane, etc. You may have to get new spark plugs.
    • This sounds very old of me, however since buying the Tiguan shit box, my view on shit boxes have changed.
