If any1 can help......

Have an r33 that has previously had an EMS 8860 wired up to it......but the computer itself is missing and the wiring is still there.....

My question for everyone is would it be better for me to buy a PFC and install that (dont know to what extent i have to chage it back to standard wiring....as i dont know if ems uses full loom) from nengun there about $1k~ or buy the ems unit and plug it straight in ($1.5k~).

If it wil only cost a few hundred to put the pcf in thats what ill do as im a bit worried if i get pulled over and have the ems. cos if i do cop a epa then thats a hassle wiring it back to standard as opposed to tthe plug and play pfc.

:P ...Jim

ahh gotta hate theives ;) damn bastards sorry to hear.. were you still running a AFM with the EMS? if so would be easier to go back to power fc.. how ever if you werent it'd be a bit more than just 1k if you were running map thru the ems to go back to pfc with afm and shit unless you get the djetro model or so.. either way your choice

ye was running afm.....so what u think it would cost to go back to a pfc...(not including the pfc itself)

Sorry not enough information to give a good answer. Is the standard harness cut? Is the standard ECU plug still there? Does it have a wally adaptor that goes from the standard plug to the EMS plug? Have you tried plugging in a standard ECU? ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

had a good look today......

The standard ECU Plug is still there...... but just before it (the auto elects...or whoever done it) tapped into the wires just before the plug and connected the ems plug.....

So it all seems to be connected but they have cut into it and added the ems loom......

Looking good as the standard loom is still there.....

    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
    • Probably. I take it that they are also mentioned to be for R34 Skyline? For example.... RDA has that part as RDA7957. I have the dimpled and slotted version of that on my car https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285518478694?srsltid=AfmBOopKxMuAFpsxZJdB1cam4D5RAj1f9yJyOttPZLAwXVNCOiwlhrIy This is DBA's top one piece equivalent https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364246686631?srsltid=AfmBOorbb0XHQgqTvZLgQPhg70nqJtGvdojKnugum3O2LFSr2h-obp8D
