Stick with the GTS-T cos first car you'll probably crash it.

I didn't get a turbo till my 4th car and I'm scared to think where I'd be (or not be) if it was my first car.

If you want to spend money on it (which you will anyway) - de wing it, spend $2k on suspension mods and learn to drive it.

Then if you want to really get crazy you can spend more.. by that time you will have a better idea of what you want. You might not even like a GTR (it's not what I'd consider an AWD car, it's an ATESSA car).

If you *JUST* want something to chop people in (if that's what you're into) get a GTiR. Stock they chop most things, bit of boost they'll chop all normal cars and most imports. Spend alot of money on them and they'll be faster than almost all but some exotics and some similarly hardcore done up imports (10 sec silvias and 10 second gtrs).

Either way - to learn on I'd always suggest a NA silvia because it teaches you how to drive performance wise without the big boost.

An RB20 would not suit my personal driving style because I'd just thrash it, whereas with my SR20 and big bastard of a cefiro I can happily pull up a hill in 2-3k rpm. So my advice here is to respect the redline and not be driving it everywhere on redline.

Good luck.

Well then ur f####d because you cant do that with imports, you should probably look into how much insurance is going to cost you before you get the car.  If you have no rating (rating 6) you'll be looking at $3000 for a r32 gtst i'd say. Have a look at just cars website and do an online quote....

Get the gtst, you dont want to kill yourself, and the odds of that happening if you get the gtr are a lot higher than if ur driving a gtst.

its something like 3700/- odd with just cars, and they are hte only ppl who does it for 17yr old. im almost 20 and i pay 2500 something cos i had an old car with them and no probs with it, so yeah

So long as it's warm, RB20's love a good thrash! :) and if something lets go they're comparitively cheap for parts or to replace entirely.

By the victoria power to weight ratio law, an r32 gtr (all gtr's actually) are over the power to weight ratio... Therefore no matter what your doing, if your driving, then your illegal. There is a shitload of people on here that have r33gtst's on their P's (also illegal) many of them get away with it, many of them don't.. It usually comes down to the area that you are driving in at the time. If you end up buying a GTR and driving it on your P's and you dicked for power/weight then don't whinge.

Also don't forget that there will ALWAYS be someone who has a faster/better car than yours. To me, buying a GTR so that you can having something cooler and faster than your friends is silly.

whatever you do, good luck (especially with importing) :)

I would stay with the GTS-T or the GTiR if I were you,

Just because you can buy a GTR for mid 20K, remember that it is still a 100K car to maintain and service ..... i.e very expensive.

So look at your finances, can you afford the car if something breaks or goes wrong (and lets face it a 15 year old R32 GTR is going to have things going wrong with it during your period of ownership)

and this is all besides the insurance cost and if you have an "at fault" accident

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!

    • Good time for a carbon roof
    • Not in any way aroused by any of those, except maybe the big AMGs. And that would break my never a Euro, ever, rule.
