Hey guys,

Not the happiest sight in the world for me this afternoon! My car being dragged up on an ALT truck and towed away!!!

The thing has decided that its going to immobilise itself for the good of my back pocket... I couldnt believe it! One minute its fine and the next its just deciding not to flow fuel through to the motor! Fortune has it that the boys at trojan decided to stick around and wait for it to arrive (about 6:00pm). So it looks like my alarm has just decided that fuel isnt a good idea any more and has shut it off. All in all it should mean I have to fit another alarm system! :)

EDIT: Ahh the beauty of a wrong diagnosis. On closer inspection the fuel pump is dead. Although the alarm may still be stuffed, it doesnt appear so.

It looked like I was going ot be stuffed for tomorrow as I really needed a car (meetings etc) and I thought I was really stuffed when our resident rent a car refused me service! lol... No I understand andrew i'm just not good enough for your veilside stylings (I couldnt handle all the pink interior anyway  ) But I have managed to source another mates commodore so you can all stop offering me your GTR's...

In other more positive news I now have big 19's on my baby and she looks sweet, pity she decided to thank me like this but... Such is life!

If its running I will show and tell some more at the D Day this sunday!

Shoutout to Trojan for looking after me again!!!

Not good news, but I hope it's fixed by SATURDAY'S dyno day,or you'll be a lonely sole participant on Sunday...At least you'd take out top horsepower reading,LOL!

EDIT: Fuel pump is dead!

You know what? I actually thought the D-Day was Sunday!!! Bastards... I wouldve bought tickets to the raiders in Manly if I thought I had Sunday free!

Yeah the ALT driver was warned and warned again about the car. It got to the point where he was getting smart about it but I wouldnt let up on the warnings... After the strategic placement of some wooden boards the car made it on the truck safely!

Shutup Leech! Just cause you want the bling! lol...

Well atleast they had wood... capital steering sent out Quickez to pick up mine.... the guy was real nice but had nothing to make it easy to get on the truck...

And this truck was bigger than ALT so i thought it wouldnt be on as much of an angle and be easy on.... Until i had to take off the front bar. :P

But im used to it.... it happens every service anyways.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
