Not sure if any of you are on here but...

If you got caught up in the Chance of a Lifetime debacle of 2003, with regards to the cashback, just wanted to let you know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and I finally got my money back.

It is a very long and arduous process, but over a year later, I finally got my $1000+ back from the #$%^# at Mopro. It doesnt make up for the 100s of hours spent on this, but it is something.

So if any of you need any help with a claim through the CTTT/Fair trading, drop me a PM and I will help you where I can.

Cheers.

Am very interested in this, one of the guys on our team is still 2200 out of pocket in prize money........

Did the cashback company not pay up? or was the problem with Mo Pro?

Hi Duncan,

No, the deal fell through and Cashback is blaming Mopro - which I thoroughly believe after dealings with them, but they wouldn't tell me exactly what happened. From what they tell me, only people that registered before November 2003 received their vouchers and money - that leaves quite a lot outstanding.

Mopro has been completely indifferent to the situation and purely does not give a shit. I am EXTREMELY passionate about this as they really screwed me around. I can go into a lot more detail but I am trying to hold back.

However, you mentioned that it was prize money that your mate was after? Sorry, don't know any of that situation. If it is in writing and there was some sort of agreement between your friend and Mopro, then maybe the process would be the same... but it could also fall under Gaming and Racing as it wasn't exactly a product or service that was bought.

Let me know if you want to know what you have to do with fair trading and I will post it here.

Cheers.

Thanks but thats OK, we will come to some sort of agreement on goods instead, a nice little 'woo racecar in the garage would be fine.

I just hadn't heard about the cashback issue, those guys have been financially stretched for a number of years, juggling debts and just staying ahead since the disasterous MG series. I think things are better on track now with the Lotuses.

Actually, I wish them all the best in their business, making it much easier to get into racing. But we also want our money back :spank:

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
