Driveline vibration > 2500rpm

Recommended Posts

Since last thursday I have had a nasty vibration coming from somewhere in the driveline. Had a mechanic drive it yesterday and they said that the baffle on the front muffler has collapsed.

However, I rang the exhaust place and they said it wouldnt cause the clutch / gearbox to shake as it does. The other strange thing is that it only happens for about 15mins and then goes away.

Anyone has the same problem ? HOW did you fix it ?

what type of car, what speed/rpm are you doing, under accerlation or braking.

I have a realy bad shake in mine and its due to my rims being buckled. (can be fixed)

Go take it your trusted wheel aligner and ask.

It is in a 1990 Cefiro with RB20DET

It is really noticable when changing gears from take off. Ie reving up then 1st > 2nd then reving up again. When I depress the clutch it vibrates A LOT and then subsides once I release the clutch, (although I can still feel it in the stick)

Its not wheel alginment as it just had on done and the vibration goes away after about 15mins
