I thought GTR's do high 12's standard ? This is what i'm told by people i know who pull themselves   over these (sorry for offending) king of the road GTR's ?

They do perhaps on street style road surface, put any road car on the real 1/4 race strip and it will lose a few tenths or more.

EVL can do a mid 12 if his car is well maintained and driven with the present mods. Given that these times are common amongst R33 GTRs of similar spec.

Nothing like a little pressure hey fellas!!!!!:(

I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what times I'll run tomorrow, but I picked up my helmet today so now I don't need to scab them off mates anymore and I'm good to go!!!!!

Rev, the car has done really low k's runs sweet and pulls really hard with no flat spots so i'm hoping to lay down some good times.. I'll be very happy with mid 13's for now, I've only ever been to the drags twice before, and the last time I only did 3 runs as there were over 180 cars and about an hour wait between go's....

Anyone going with a camera (still or video), would love a couple of piccies of the gtr, don't own my own camera, rather spend money on cars!!!!!:D :headbang:

EVL R33,

Hopefully I will be taking a digital camera, and I'm trying to score a video camera for the night. Don't worry about putting down too good a time, I don't want to be the only one with a shit time.

Hope to see lots of people there tommorrow night.

Our thinking is that if we talk ourselves down and then post a good time then we will be able to brag, if we post a shit time then no-one will be suprised. Simple logic really.

Why don't you come and race then, show us how it's done. I'm sure if you don't do any burnouts then your clutch will be fine.:D

Yeah, that's right Macka rub it in. I hope your time gets beaten soon so that someone else can have bragging rights. All right enough bullshit, only 24hrs to see what I can get.

So I go on the green light do I? I saw Macka use the red light, what does that mean, he was premature and came to soon?

just means his time shouldnt count :D

ay ay ay

we been thru this I had a .22 reaction time when i did a break ages ago my reaction time was "000.00"

Even if it didnt count i will bring it down to my next slip which was 13.066 dere happy! :shake:

Brett,

Dont stress it mate, just rev it to 6500 -7000rpm and away you go, I'll be very suprised if you go slower than 13.5 and be envious if you crack a 12.

Bottom line is that you bought the car to have fun in and if you arent' having fun fanging the R down the 1/4 then you've forgotten why you bought it.

Boys,

I ain't stressing, and we ain't squabbling, I'm just not one to get caught up in the 'I'll run 12's for sure' bullsh*t that goes on sometimes..

Ryan, I will be having a ball tonight don't you worry, ya won't be able to wipe the stupid grin off my face all night!!!!!

Rock on 6pm!!!!!!

Brett

I just hope it cools down. Or im leaving it till next week.

May still be down there, even if only to watch, just to see that purple warrior, um i mean the GTR of course.

And im keen to see GTS-t VSPEC's car too.

deesh,

Come down, don't worry about the heat, its already starting to cool down, I'm working in Rockingham. Beside it will provide the perfect excuse, "car didn't run so good due to the heat", or "yeah I got a 13, but without the heat it would have been a 12".

EVL R33 and I will need all the advice and support we can get in beating the Holden/Ford boys.

    • Just to be clear, there were no lights or codes when the hiccups were occurring. Also nothing noticeable in the cars' braking. It brakes fine and the dash is clear. I only made the connection when it did throw a code and suddenly, despite the lights, it felt great again.
    • Yeah they are sliders and this was in my head before I worked out it was the speed sensor.
    • Ok so we have a smoking gun.  A few weeks ago I had to replace a speed sensor that I'd fit incorrectly. I replaced the sensor and everything was fine with no lights or codes thrown any longer.  When I was doing some more bedding in yesterday I got ABS and traction control lights again and, considering when this happens those things are disabled, the pedal went back to normal with smooth braking and no hiccups.  The codes thrown are for the same speed sensor that I replaced. When I looked at the sensor I took out it looks like the tip of the sensor is damaged. So whatever happened to it, perhaps it has damaged the magnetic ring on the bearing (that I only replaced the other week). I'll get my boroscope in the hole where the sensor goes and see if there is any damage in there. Hopefully just the tip of the sensor is in there and the bearing is fine. 🤞🏻  It's worth noting also that the pedal hiccup happens more often and for longer periods now and totally goes away when the codes are thrown again which happens usually after 5 or so minutes of driving. Love all your help here as usual guys, thanks!
