xRHETTx
Hey all, I'm in the market for an aftermarket boost gauge, mainly because i need to tune my Jaycar boost controller, and my factory gauge isnt really precise enough. My main question is, is their any benefit to getting an electronic gauge? I had my heart set on a Defi BF boost gauge but with the controller is going to be about $400 posted to my door (from nengun). Is there any advantage in going this option rather than getting a mechanical gauge for less than half the Defi gauges' price? I can pick up a japanese brand name mech gauge secondhand for less than $100. I dont think ill need the replay facility of the Defi gauges, but the warning light may come in handy. Thanks, Rhett Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/71951-aftermarket-boost-gauges/ Share on other sites
GR33DY
mate yea DEFI is expensive, however, if u were gonna get oil temp, water temp etc... in the future, then it would be such a bad investment.. But if i was in ur shoes, which i was abt 2 months ago, i would go for the PIVOT range of guages!! They look soo awesome and use a stepping motor also.. it is mechanical but the stepping motor makes it more accurate.. they are roughly around $280 to ur door.. i can organise it if u want one mate! i may get it cheaper too.. PM me if u r interested.. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/71951-aftermarket-boost-gauges/#findComment-1326897 Share on other sites
Tommyk
i just bought a mechanical one for quite cheap. Greddy Brand, shipped from nengun. Go have a look. My problem is, that im now tempted to buy a set of Electronic gauges (oil temp + pressure) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/71951-aftermarket-boost-gauges/#findComment-1326940 Share on other sites
