Hi there guys and gals,

If you're in need of tyres for your beloved beast please give Charlie a call @ Bob Jane in Belco, he is a close friend of mine and is now the new manager there.

Just tell him that you're from the SkylinesAustralia forums and that I(Brad) sent you.

Cheers,

Brad

As long as they don't scratch my wheels this time.....or take 4 times longer than they quoted......

Hopefully these problems resolved under the new mgmt.

Charlie took over the role of manager the week before last, so I'm sure he'll be pulling his staff into line pretty quickly.....

Is there any kind of discount or "mates rates" involved with this recomendation or is it purely an advertisment?

I ask because I need new 19 inch rubber and I'm looking for a good price.

Hey there Stevie,

Definately not purely advertisment :-)

PM me to get my mob number when you're ready to go in and I'll give him a buzz and let him know you're coming....

I spoke to him today and he'll said that he'll do his best to look after us.

Being the new manager is hard for him because he's already starting off with a bad rep which he's trying to fix, so I told him that we'd try to support him as best we could..

Hey Brad, do you know if they stock semi-slicks? Alternately anyone selling some second hand?

Hey there Camma,

If you can get size, preffered brand and other relevant details in regards to what you want I can give him a call or alternatively you can call him on 62532642(ask for Charlie), just tell him the I told you to call. If he doesn't have them, he'll definately try and source them for you.

Or you can try Northwest Tyres in Fyshwick for second handies.

Cheers,

Brad

Excellent. Size would be 205 to 225's in 16". Preferred brand not too concerned but would prefer something in Bridgestone RE55's, Dunlop DO2G's or even some Falken Azenis.

Thanks.

Hey there Glenn,

I've just spoken to Charlie and he said that he's got a Falken in stock, and when you get a chance if you can go in and they can fit it up for you to see if you like them.

Otherwise they can probably order in what you're after.

He didn't have a definate price(for the Falkens) but he said it'll probably be a bit over $200

When you go in make sure that you ask for Charlie and tell him that I sent you.

Cheers,

Brad

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
