Hi,

I understand the fronts in an R32 are 6"x 4"..

i'm not really the handyman.. and dont have the tools or anything, so i wanted to know whether 5" would fit?

6" i believe i need a spacer.. and 4" is too small..

so 5" i guess i'd be pretty content.

Thanks.

If your replacing them with anything other than the stock specs than you need a speaker pod of some discription. You will get the best results with 6" speakers (a good set of components) and use your HU to run them if your not intending on using an amp.

Have a look at the thread Predator wrote about pods, very handy indeed and anyone can make them, not hard. You only need the basic tools to do it as well.

if you ahve any other question then ask away as someone will give you the answers you seek. :P

Simple to install larger speakers in the front...

Ive got 6.5" morel splits up there..... want to know how

take off door trim

Take off crappy old plastic thing that holds speaker to door.....

Get some medium thickness mdf.... like 12mm or something...(cut offs at hardware)

put black thing on mdf and trace around and mark where the screw holes are....

buy $20 jigsaw and cut around edge....

Put 6.5" speaker in the middle where the old hole is kind of lined up.... there is a bit of room to play with..... so dont stress... drill then jigsaw hole......

trial fit.. if it dosent work cut again or modify:D

put speakers in.. wire up... put tweeter on the little plastic thing on the inside of the side mirror... pops off easily and will take small screws.....

put crossover in middle of door.. under where you rest your arm and screw in place

make sure that nothing on the door trim pokes into the speaker......

wire up and listen to what you have created...

muhahahahah

Ed :D:D:D

Okay then, why is the sky blue?

Now lets see how many people actually know that! :)

No one said these questions had to be car related, except maybe the forum rules!

The sky is blue because

The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air.

However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue.

Hope that helps clear it up for you BADHABIT???

:cuddle:

jbl do a speaker that go straight in with a little triming on the corners with a tin snips just got a new alpine and they sound awesome

Bought some of these yesterday gunna have a feed then fit them up :)

Can you just remove the grille from the door panel itself rather than remove the whole door panel itself to fit them..?

unless im mistaken you will have to remove the door pod completly. The grill is part of the door skin. Not hard to take on and off, takes about 2-3 mins once you know what your doing.

Well the speaker install went extremely smoothly :)

Removal of door trim nessacary but very easy, front speakers needed plastic edges (bout 5mm) cut off each corner to allow flush fitment.

Rear speakers requires removal off back seat and parcel shelf (again Piss easy) 6.5" rear speakers fit straight into factory holes.

Sound: Obviously far superior to previous weather beaten ripped ones (although they were Alpines), Kenwood MP3 Deck has ample power to run them and is quite loud, louder infact than the Factory system in my BA, but still dosnt offer the low down bass of the BA.

All up $260 for the Kenwood MP3 deck and $219 for all the JBL speakers you cant really go wrong ;)

Sounds good mate, i can't wait to finish my install off. Rain sucks and without a garage it makes it kinda hard :chairshot

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
