HID GROUP BUY NOW OPEN!

The kits are Kaixen, which are a quality Korean brand - Sure we'd all like to go German but when you're not going to spend $1k+ on headlights then this is the next best thing (imo). Checkout BATMBL's website about them www.bosimporting.com.au

The price will be $390 delivered - this is a damn good price guys I haven't found any cheaper.

You have the choice is 6000k or 8500k. The 6000k is white with a tiny tinge of blueness. The 8500k is basically blue. The 6000k is the one that will provide the better light but the 8500k will probably attract more attention. Needless to say I went with the 6000k one :P

I said earlier that these will require an extra little wire to ground the bulbs if you had H3C (like my cefiro and my flatmates r32) - I have installed this and THIS IS NOT THE CASE. The H3 kit will go straight in to a H3 or H3C assembly.

disclaimer -

I've heard that r32 projector lights can be H3C or H1. Cefiros also differ!! My flatmate's r32 was H3C's, BHDave's were H1 - both r32s of similar years. This is up to you to check which kit you should use!!! IF IN DOUBT POST UP A PIC!!!!!! This is not my responsibility!!

:wizard:

This group buy has expanded since I started it but the focus is still about cefiro owners so snap it up lads!

[edit note:] I've edited this post to reflect the current information. Basically all you have to do is to PM me or say in this thread "Yes I am confirmed, I'd like to have 6000k/8500k in H1/H3/H4" and I will update the list.

You will pay BATMBL straight into his account - I don't want no money! This ensures you get warranty (1yr).

Once we hit 10 people everyone will then be asked to pay into the account. You will then be sent the kits and they will be delivered to you around 2 weeks. Simple as that!

If anyone has any problems with the way the group buy is operating then make suggestions but I don't wanna talk about how to do it all week I'd rather just do it :) hehe

I've put mine in today and I've got pics.

Pic 1 - left side 55w phillips halogen (bluevision) only

Pic 2 - right side kaixen HID kit 6000k only

Pic 3 - both sides showing for a comparison

Pic 4 - Looking at the lights (it's off centre to get the correct spot metering)

They're nice.. real nice and even better on the road :P I'm particularly impressed with the cut off of the projectors, also the lack of glare, although these factors are more to do with the projectors than the kit itself those buying HID for the first time to fit in projectors would like to know they work nice :(

I am waiting to hear from BATMBL to see if the colours will be choosable - I will update my first post when confirmed.

I can't guarantee these will fit BNR32 - have you checked they are H3 or H3C ? (photos of H3C assembly from thread linked in first post)

If you still want to be in please say so in the thread and I will start the list in 2 weeks when the group buy is open.

Good to get some interest we might hit 10 or 20 at this rate.

r32 guys you will have to check your lights - I've attached the picture of the H3C assembly. If it doesn't look like this you have H1's in which case please contact BATMBL directly!

If you notice the little wire that's plugged into the plug I'm holding that's the 'conversion' for H3C to accept H3 bulbs (the HID kit will be H3) - we all need to do this to allow the H3 bulbs some grounding.

This group buy starts in 2 weeks after I have them installed in my car so I can take pics and stuff and also gives people time to get their $$ together.

So the group buy will open in 2 weeks - I will update the thread, give details of when we can expect the kits at your door from time of payment and all that sorta stuff. Just have $ in 2-3weeks because with this much demand I think we should be able to have enough confirmations and stuff within the first week of the group buy so it should be fairly quick.

4100k is the brightest and is what all the OEMs fit. The closer to 4100k the better for light output. 4100k still looks blue when you pass them on the roads though, so don't think that you need high temperatures to get the cool look. Check out http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/ for info on HID retrofits/kits. They're generally pretty against kit upgrades on that site and more into retrofits btw.

Hey guys i know its slightly off topic but i bought a set of H1 4500k HID White globes for my R32. Just wondering if its a simple plug and play globe swap for these???

I noticed the set up on the R32 is low and high beam are seperate globes, do the H1's that i bought go straight into the low beam spot and you leave the high beam alone or need others for high beam as well???

Cheers GMB

Daveo - H4's what the?

XZE - H1's what the?

Well guys looks like when you're buying these you WILL have to check your bulbs to make sure you order the right ones - I will not be held responsible if you pick the wrong ones. I will ask supplier if it's ok to chose which type you want then anyone can have whatever the hell they want.

XZE - I have a set of H1's sitting here I was going to exchange for H3s when they came in but will sell them to you if you want (wouldn't mind the money in the meantime to buy an oil cooler). PM if interested.

grandmasterb - You need ballasts for HID bulbs to work so if you didn't get those you didn't get an HID kit. High beams don't generally use HID because they take a while to warmup. Please start another thread for help on this.

First post updated in bold to reflect the various bulb kits cefiro owners have :D

My ceffie is a genuine ser. II it has the chrome lights not black like most ceffies they use H1 globes with a 3 prong holder/ adapter to fit the loom will the hid kit fit my setup???

I'm not sure about the lights being chrome or black. But you'll have to determine which type they are. If you're sure they are H1's then yes the H1 kit will fit them.

My ceffy has the 3 prong thing too that's the plug that goes to both the high beam and the low beam. If you notice each actual light then plugs into that. You will have to plug the hid kit into the one the low beam goes into. Full instructions are in there but I didn't really read them - if you pick them up from BATMBL he will show you, if you pick em up from me I will show you too.

    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
