I rang the guys at Magic Cat today and organised a price of $210 including postage to anywhere in Australia for a purchase of 5 or more cats.

Sorry to the other group buy (PSR), but i need one and i'd rather get it cheaper. Im not making any money out of this so i dont really want to go back and forth with questions about flanging. They are 4 inch, necked down to 3.5 inches. Any exhaust shop will certainly be able to fit them to your existing exhaust with a minimum of fuss.

As i understand these are one of the highest flowing cats around (750cfm), and for this price, you cant go wrong.

There is a thread in Forced Induction Performance that will provide more info on these particular cats. Click below.

Please dont hesitate to PM or ring me on 0414972596 should you require info about the group buy. If you want to know technical info, ring magic cat on (02)99391644. Im sure they wouldnt mind.

I really dont know. I depends on how many people sign up! Theres already 3, so we only need 2 more!

i'll be in for one :(

Any chance i can get it before the 10th? I need it desparatly as me car needs its new exhaust by the 10th....

IMkeen just gotta measure my exhaust....might be to small :(

Likewise: I assume measuring the outside dimension is adequate? Any idea on the costs of getting it flanged? Will you be going ahead as soon as you get five people, or is there a cutoff date?

Lucien.

I dont know how much it will cost to get it flanged.

Retail price is $300 + postage, so youre saving about $100 probably.

There is no cut off date, but ill order them as soon as i get 5 people. I have about 7 already, so as soon as i get money into my account ill order them. Please understand that im not handling the cats at all. Im just providing Magic Cat with the money and addresses of the group buy members, and they'll package them up and send them out.

When you deposit the money into my account, send me your full name and postal address via PM, as confirmation of the deposit.

I hope to order them as early as Monday or Tuesday if everyone is diligent with deposits. Internet deposits are best.

Shaun.

Gday guys,

Im hoping to order these cats on Monday or Tuesday depending on speediness of deposits, so your cooperation is appreciated. PM me if you want in and ill reply with my bank details etc.

When youve deposited the money, dont forget to PM me with your full name and postal address as confirmation of the deposit. Ill then wait till all money is in my account and deposit the funds into Magic Cats account. ill fax them your addresses and they can take it from there! Hopefully youll have the cats next week.

Shaun.

P.S. Bl4cK32. Realistically, i dont like your chances of getting it by wednesday, unless you pick it up. Theyre on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
