Hello to all you fellow 34 goers...

Just bought my R34 GT-T, and was wondering if I could round up some advice/opinions on where to go next. I don't want to be jumping into any big projects before considering all options.

Advice Sought After:

1) Basic Performance Upgrades

2) Intermediate Performance Upgrades

3) "Let's not go there" Performance Upgrades

4) Audio Systems that work well in a R34 (or any ICE systems)

5) Styling Advice

If you guys/girls can give me some idea of where to start looking that would be great. I can't seem to find much in terms of the 34 in Australia at the moment.

Thank you all for your help~

Firstly, spend a couple of months at least digesting the stuff on this forum. There is a lot of information here.

In order:

1.

cat back exhaust system.

make sure you have a proper 3" cat

turbo to cat zorst, best to get a split dump/front pipe

high flow panel filter in stock box

boost controller of some sort, 10-12 psi

2.

suspension (many options)

front mount intercooler

fuel pump

regulator

injectors

turbo upgrade

oil cooler

3.

diff

engine rebuild with forgies etc.

At some stage your clutch or transmission (depending on auto or manual) will go and have to be rebuilt or replaced.

4.

I have an amp running a dual coil 10" sub in a box in the boot. Deck still runs the standard speakers although this not ideal it does the job.

5.

East Bear I like but there are heaps of options. Body kits are expensive to get here from Japan.

what bob said....except in part 2 you should have an aftermarket computer of some sort in there...if its a manual than you cant go past the Apexi Power FC if its auto than your fu(ked...hahaha jk....probably either a chipped ecu or a greddy e-manage.

as for styling.......yes east bear is nice....so is c west and uras and top secret.

Who stocks the styling parts... C-West sounds good!!

And yes, it's an Auto (hangs head in shame), I can drive manual - but unfortunately my missus cannot! So what's the best option from here?

Thanks guys!

I've got a Tiptronic Auto at the moment... the semi-manual shifter is already a lot of fun. Just need to get the dynamics of it totally correct.

Went to NSPM today to get a Xenon Lights upgrade (actually a swap with another car awaiting compliance). In the meantime, I also picked up a set of TEIN adjustable suspension coilovers... ride is much better, harder and steadier - only problem is that it has lowered my car to a level which doesn't allow me to get into my own driveway!!! BUGGER!

Will work something out tomorrow morning.

Any of you guys from the Northshore?

Missus says "hi"

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
