Im just hopin i can drive it, i only had it for 2 months b4 losin my license in march, then now this, i h8 it

thanks

Well to be not to play the blame game but this is the reason why this law is put in place to stop offenders from driving.

Just pay the fine or something and take public transport :)

What were you thinking when you took your friend home. Tsk Tsk..

"Self inflicted" Yes I agree..

i reckoned ur friend should chip in to the fine you're going to copped because if its wasnt for him u wont be in this mess aye? either way its comes to common courtesy or just being ur friend to help you out in some way. my 2 cents.

Section 10 of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999 gives the magistrate an opportunity to dismiss a charge even though you've been found guilty. It would be also possible to be placed on a good behaviour bond through this as well. They would take into account factors such as your circumstances, character, etc.

But seeing as you were already suspended and reoffended I don't think you'd be able to use this.

Habib, you are EXACTLY the type of P-plater this law is targetting.

Although it sounds like you couldn't give a toss about licence suspensions, so why you would care about a power restriction, I have no idea.

a section 10 with good behaviour bond is not applicable unless you are on your full license, so forget about that..

and i am quite sure you will get hammered in court, especially with all the bad publicity lately, if i were you i would put my car up for sale right now, you will probably have to wait a 3 years before being able to drive one again! (until u get your full license)

looks like you will not be able to drive it...doesn't the new law say that if you already have your p's but have your license suspended then when you get them back after the date the new law comes in, then you cant drive performance cars...think that what i read in the paper...

simple fact is that you shouldn't have been driving, and your friend should realise that you haven;t got a licesne so shouldn't have got you to drive...if he can afford to pay part of the fine then he can afford to pay for a taxi...

thats bs that means i cant drive my skyline till im 25 or so
No, it's not BS. You broke the law, now you have to suffer the consequences.

You obviously don't take the law seriously considering you lost your license 3 months after you got it and then had the arrogance to defy your driving disqualification and drive again without your license. I'm sorry mate, but seriously, what were you thinking?

As said above, the law is designed to target people like yourself. I know the penalty may seem harsh, but perhaps next time you'll think before you deciding to break the rules.

Sorry to say dude, but you're going to get raped in court. Expect ~$1500 fine and 12 month CANCELLATION of licence.

I'm currently suspended/cancelled for 3 months - it's not worth the risk driving dude, don't have your licence? Don't go hopping in the car (unless you ain't driving anywhere but up/down your driveway ) and definitely do NOT go dropping mates off...

What you've done now is considered a "major offence" and if you do another TWO of those in the next 5 years, expect worse and worse penalties... ranging from heavy fines and further suspensions/cancellation of licence, and 3 year MINIMUM bans!

Sell your Skyline, use some of the money for a GOOD lawyer - to try to get the penalty down to a minimum... then when you get your licence back in a year or so - buy some N/A car that's going to keep you out of trouble... non turbo skyline maybe...

Good luck man, you're going to need it!

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
