Jumping camp.. i.e. moving to a toyota

Recommended Posts

i get about 300kms to a tank in my 33....but its bouncing off limiter round most corners.

the magnas are not a bad car, and look pretty good too. the only problem i do have with them is they torque steer like crazy and you sit really low in them, or the window level is really high....its hard to see out the windows....and im 6'2". but they are alot better than camrys and other mid size fwds. the toyota passenger cars are good, but unless you get a sports model, they are very grandpa-ish.

by far the all round best drive car is the Subarus....i had a 2000 Liberty RX wagon. dumped on 18s....looked phat, super nice to drive, all the creature comforts, good power, good torque, lots of room. awesome car, sometimes i wish i still had it.

cheers

200kms out of a tank!!!! thats running terribly rich, or you are bouncing off the limiter around every corner!

I was getting 400-420 out of my stock 33 gtr, and when my girlfreind drove it it would be closer to 500?

llewah gets more than 200km in his 10000000hp gtr

its not stock. very far from it.

and i drive on the freeway every day.

see andrew.

you should have let me have that car instead of you.

:D

good luck with the sale. But i certainly wouldnt get a 4cyl is200. at least get one with a stock 1j or 2j in like shane's is200. i think he as selling for 35k.

Just curious,

if you drove a high powered GTR off boost all the time, would it get the same K's as a stock GTR?

Does bigger injectors and modified cams use much more petrol if your off boost?

I manage to get 510k's out of my stockish R32 GTR the other week off 66.45litres.

hey mick, i do think i plan to keep it.

i'm just trying to set up a small business idea at the moment. and it needed a bit of funding to get a kick start. the 35k i would have been asking for it would have kicked me off very well in the right direction. but i have decided to start off small. and work my way up instead..

this being said. some of you might be interested in my wheels :) they may need to be sold i am sure the car will be happy on a set of bricks for a while. and then i wont have to worry about theft.

but mick i was after the jap spec is200 (altessa).. i have herd they are fine. and something like i was looking for with a bit of modification should be sweet.

and i have r34 n1 turbos, cams injectors, hksfconv pistons, rods etc etc..

oh true. lots of little bits need fixing at the moment.

going to rebuild the box, (std one) cv boots, oils throughout, and any other little things i can find.

haha i'm unlicenced at the moment hey. so i doubt i'll be down there with the car.

but i might pop in and say hello.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
