that is correct.

the $99 is probably what most of us have and being a uniden, there is accesories such as external speaker etc for it.

speaking of 33's - i saw a couple of nice ones yesterday in blacktown.....

white S2 with a kit some big wheels, plates were RNAMUK or something like that... and a nice maroon one with the plates NOS200 or somerthing, had a GT-R wing and i forget the kit

How come you sit up in the repeater channels ??

Repeater Output - Channels 1 to 8 inclusive,

Repeater Input - Channels 31 to 38 inclusive.

How do you work through a repeater?.

All modern UHF CB transceivers have the function of being able to select duplex on channels 1 to 8. What this does is configure the transceiver to transmit on a channel 30 channels higher in frequency (called the repeater offset), every time you press your microphone button to transmit, but still receive on the channel you have selected. Therein lies the clue to the way repeaters operate - receiving your transmissions on the higher frequency, say in the case of a channel 4 repeater, channel 34, and retransmitting your transmission on the lower frequency, channel 4, so that all transceivers tuned to channel 4 in the footprint of the repeater will hear your transmission, as relayed from the repeater.

The downside of repeaters is that they tend to attract the "moronic" element due to their large coverage area. As the Authorities seem little interested to contribute to any policing of the band, it is largely up to the UHF operators to conduct themselves in a proper manner on the air and in doing so set a good example to others. There will always be that rebel element who, when behind the anonymity of a microphone cause trouble. Just remember that to respond to these individuals is to reinforce their very existence. Getting responses back can only increase their satisfaction of what they do. So the moral of the story is DO NOT RESPOND. It is the only weapon the responsible operator has of maintaining some degree of control over the quality of the UHF CB band.

and you listen on channels 30-38

eg. you talk on channel 4

you listen on channel 34

Question to South (it's PL97 here :mad: ):

Can you still use this function if you are outside of the range of a repeater? Do you need a repeater station setup inorder to use the duplex function?

you'd say something on channel 4 for instance, and then switch to channel 34 for the response, then switch back?! :D

I think the unit transmitt on 4 and receives on 34 automatically franks. :mad:

EDIT: shoulr be other way around...receive on ch4 and send via ch 34 :D

If you are on Ch4 do you have to switch to Ch34 to Listen ?? That sounds off.

Sounds like we need to change to Ch RB_25_DET (Channel 25) for the standard UHF channel now......

ok I *think* this is how it works if your unit supports duplex :mad:

- you are on ch4 and have setup to use duplex mode.

- you press the button to talk and the unit sends your voice over as ch34 to the repeater (4 + 30 = 34 wow)

- repeater receives your signal and broadcast it back out as ch4

- everyone on ch4 hears your voice

    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch.
