thats a bit over board isn't it?

is he going to take any legal action?

he really should..

They had no insurance. they have closed down. The guy is broke. You cant get blood from a stone.

Well Don is pretty upset about the whole ordeal. Apparently they stuffed his car as well. hacked the crap otta it and didnt even put the rb26 in properly.

He is really over it and does not even have any high performance cars anymore.

I feel sorry for him as he was one of the decent ones around town.

Its f**ked.

I had a about 5k of parts sitting around at Turbotechnics for a while and NEVER had any problems.

Infact parts i left there 12 months ago are still there waiting with my name on it.

Thats the way a workshop should be anyone who goes there will know what i mean.

ok ok....guess I should share my perspective here

the car was beautiful...i loved it...hell I've loved all my performance cars but nothing is as special as a nissan...damn that car was a pleasure to drive!

I brought it in Oct 03....and in march 04 i got a a little money together to start playing with it...so I got bullshitted into taking it to a workshop that mad a mess of it...although she was putting out 295kw at the wheels hahaha on the dyno...at 19psi

I tried to get some compensation from the workshop that performed work on it that was by far substandard and in some cases unsafe...but i was wasting my time...

So I took it to pulse...reluctantly...but I was sold the dream..the bullshit

I should have seen the warning signs...cash strapped...putting the bite on me for more and more funds etc...everytime I asked the question..nufin but bullshit.

I start buying the 26 motor, buying parts...all top notch quality to fix the mess and end up getting a bigger mess not to mention parts stolen...

The workshop wasnt insured...cops did nothing...and I was left with a mess for a 34. The car was so bad...bring tears to your eyes to see it compared to what it was.

The cars paint was ruined...thanks to how it was stored, the motor was put in not even bolted to engine mounts, in actual fact sitting above one of them...2 dowell holding the engine to the g'box and only 2 bolts to hold it there....interior parts everywhere etc...the whole thing was a joke...a bad joke.

In the end...like most business decisions you have to decide when to cut your losses...after 2 workshops screwing it...i decided i coudlnt throw anymore money to it...it was going to cost me more to fix then let it go...so as hard as it was...i said thats it...

Now ppl might say he gave up to easy well put it in these terms...I spent almost @10k initially to mod it...then spent around another 10k buying parts for the 26 conversion plus around 6k or so for other bits...etc and all the while still paying for the car....which cost me @40k at the time to buy...

So enuf is enuf...time to let it go...my pockets arent deep enuf to keep it up forever.

I hope in the future to have another skyline...but for now I gotta work my ass off to save up the $$$ I effectively flushed down the toilet

Nope wasnt scotts in this instance...

but I have had experiences with them in the past and it wasnt positive.

why is it, in newcastle all we ever seem to hear and experience is bad things...i mean in all fairness you hear bad things everywhere BUT in newy it seems to be particularly bad...?

I'll add to bad things about Newcastle, the company I worked for a year and a half ago let me go on redundancy & then they couldn't even pay my super due to bankruptcy.

But other than that I still love Newy to live over anywhere else I've ever been :P

Waiting on a quote for a big ass service from DenStoj, hopefully that’ll run smoothly.

hey man sorry bout your miss fortune

i can understand what its like to be with out your NISSAN

i'm back after 2 yrs been a long time coming

hope to see you back behind the wheel soon man

    • I'll probably be putting the shit box back on the dyno again soon, I want to dial in the closed loop boost control properly. I'll have a camera facing the car/motor for fun too. Just note, there are essentially 3x 10AN inlets going into the catch can and 1x going back to the intake pipe. Most of the time the catch can "return" to the sump actually is the crank case breather, pushing air out.
    • I have the R3C with a Nismo slave and by no means does it behave like a stocker, it ain’t THAT bad. On take off just give a bit more throttle than you would say a coppermix and it’s fine. It will not slip though.
    • Okay. Final round of testing done. Got a friend to hook up a fancy scanner to the car and we also ran some compression and leakdown tests, she is healthy.  The MAF was definitely the culprit. So for future reference anyone with similar issues that find this thread. I suggest the following steps, in order of affordability:   Check your spark plugs for any fouling, replace plugs if they are bad or re adjust the gaps making it narrower (0.8mm would be good). Check every coil's resistance with a multimeter. It can be done by probing the IB and G pins on the coil pack. Resistance should be around 1.4 (+/- 0.1) Ohms Check the MAF. If you have Nissan connect or a good scanner with the 14 adapter it should allow you to see the voltage on the MAF reading should be around 1.1 - 1.2V when car is idling. But if you don't, buy a new MAF from Amazon and test, then return it. (For instance, I got a Chinese one for $40 that was reporting 1.3v on idle). If you still have scanner, you can run tests on the injectors to see if they are working, just remember to unplug the fuel pump fuse/relay and have no pressure on the line. Then listen for the noises that the injectors make. Clean/replace injectors as needed. Once you find the issue and fix, order thousands of dollars worth of OEM parts to refresh unrelated things (Optional)   PS: Thanks to the absolute legends of this forum for the responses and help to someone that went a bit over their head.
