In Dori Princess' defence, there have been occasions in the past where some blokes have behaved in a way which suggests SAU/ people associated with the club do not treat female owners/ enthusiasts the same way they do blokes.

Case in point- one of my first SAU events, one guy went around the circle of people there, shook hands, introduced himself, got to me, gave me a quick glance without saying a word, and moved on to the bloke standing next to me.

Plus some of the general comments thrown around the forum

So should something be done about it to make everyone more gender neutral, or should the cycle be propagated by the "outcasts" segregating themselves further?

Reverse discrimination is still discrimination, so if you're motivation is to avoid it then it just makes you look hypocritical.

And, if its only a small minority, then why set up a different club that's purely for girls? Its not like everyone is out to get you, so it seems like a bit of a hissy fit that just reinforces negative stereotypes about females.

I can understand where you're coming from. Being in I.T. (another historically male dominated subculture) I've seen what its like, especially during the boom when it was 99% male, with an average age in the late teens / early 20's. I've seen some of the shit that people have posted on BBS' and Internet forums, and I've seen what some people have IM'ed my ex's completely out of the blue.

But I just find that "well, we have to set up our own clique because there are some fcuktards out there" a bit offensive, and counter productive. The people that ended Apartheid / civil rights for black didn't do it by walling themselves in and only making the occasional foray out.

Personally, I don't care what kind of chromosome pairs my fellow car enthusiasts have for me to give them respect. Its their maturity, intelligence and tastes (or lack of them) that decide whether I live up to my nick towards them. So if someone trash talks a fellow car enthusiast purely because of their genitalia, they failed my maturity and intelligence requirements and I'll give it to them with both barrels.

While I'll still post the occasional ribald comment, just because I'm gender neutral in my respect doesn't mean I'm not male. But those comments will have nothing to do with a person's suitability behind the wheel with any seriousness.

Why go Pretty Motorsports when not everyone female is pretty? Furthermore, some males these days are way prettier than some girls that I've seen around (with all the metrosexual crap going on) but you are a females only club... How does the name PRETTY MOTORSPORT show that?

I think a much simpler name would be FEMALE CAR CLUB, or if you really want to widen the scope, FEMALE CLUB!

Hi there,

Even though i know i really shoudn't have a say(cause im a male) but i think "pretty motorsports" isnt that bad of a name for a girls club.

If all u girls aint happy with the name i think u should at least suggest a name.

If i would have to suggest a name it would be "Drivin Obsession" but i guess its not really the best anyways let me know what u think.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
