Oil Catch Can Cans

hey ppl, i know must have been brought up million and one timez but i need a simple idiots guide in the difference between a catch can, breather tank and oil/air separator....(already tried search, need straight forward answers) and why/when i need one.

well they are all pretty much the same thing ..

only thing that would differentiate would be how they actually are setup.

i would say that the oil/air separator and catch can would both be the style that separate the oil mist from the air and plumb back into the inlet much like the cars do stock.

breather tank would be the style that vents to atmosphere, causing the same effect but giving you fumes and the possibility od being defected.
