REdgtst
Just wondering if it is possible to run the HKS EVC type 3 stepper motor without any filters. The one i have is missing the filters. If it is not possible to run this without the filters would anyone know where these can be purchased or if they can be made up? REdgtst
mines doesnt haven't any filters that i know of, do you mean the ones that plumb into the air lines? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah the ones that normally lead from your stepper motor to your solenoids: The reason why i say this is: i have only had the car a week and am already modding it. I have bought a boost controller and have seen the same one from a different supplier only it had filters attached to the stepper motor output hoses. Do you reckon the stepper motor or solenoids will become shafted if these filters are not in place? wilch
During the drag day a mate and I had to fix a car that was overboosting. Peaking at 2bar constantly. When we checked the stepper motor (Greddy profec A type)we also saw one of these little filters. It was attached to the cross over pipe, so you'd think the air would be clean... anyway, the filter was filthy, on inspection we broke the stupid little filter. I then decided to plug the vacuum line straight into the motor. Overboost issue was fixed. The controller still works. Not sure if it'll do any damage in the long run. The stepper motor that came with my Greddy Profec B s2 didn't come with any of these filters. There is one in line with the boost controller though. REdgtst
Looks like i wont bother about chasing up any filters! I will just wack it straight in! I have to wait three months however for the dealers statutory warranty to subside before i can put it in otherwise it becomes void! (Geez it is hard waiting!!!!!!!!) Cheers for the feedback!
