Rough Ride In R33 4 Dood?

Iv'e finally returned to an Import after having a VS Statesman for 8 years with no end of trouble. Replased more of this car than all the imports [3 Hillmans,1 Mazda,1 Renault] Yes I'm an old guy [58 going on 18]. Anyway, just wondering if I can expect the same smooth ride in my R33 4 door as I had in the Statesman? Or would I need to replace the shocks? How easy is it to get new ones? I don't want to bother modifying the suspention.

I think you'll find that the stock suspension in the 4 door Skyline is quite a bit "sportier" than the Statesman. I spend about equal time on country roads in an '03 Camry and my 4 door. At legal speeds the Camry is much smoother and quieter. On the other hand a 100kph bend in the Camry that raises your pulse rate a bit would be 145 in the 4 door. :D

I have a R33 4door which I love. 5 speed manual, crossflow trust intercooler so the engine bay looks standard and mines ecu , dump pipe off turbo ,uprated sway bars and raised boost. I picked up some secondhand Bilsteins and used them for about a year . They are great. Just had the front ones rebuilt at Heasmens for $276.00 a pair. Going to have the rear ones done soon. Bilstein's being rising rate are nice and compliant when cruising but stiffen right up when you start pushing them
