Just wondering how one would go about joining Skylines Australia car club?

I know the thread above points you in the direction of the form that needs to be filled out.

But what I also would like to know is what the full cost is, involved in joining an what exactly do you get for your money when joining?

I did read somewhere, where you can pay like $55 and you get this discount thing and a sticker, etc etc. Then there is this $95 thing I think it is where you also get a shirt or jacket or something.

Can someone please enlighten me on what the full involvement is and exactly what you do get for your money?

$55 or even $95 is a bit steep to join a club if you get very little. After all, I'm sure most skyliners would agree that, that money could be better spent on the car if you dont get much for what you pay for.

Anyway! any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

as i remember (and unless things have changed)

$55 gets u into the club - stickers, member card, discounts from various sponsers (bob jane, mecury, bda, tuff toyz and some other places), access to members' sections and members' events

$95 gets u all of the above and SAU polo shirt with sponser embriodery.

Let me put it in simple terms. I pay $300 each for my tyres now. When my discount card rocks up later this week, I will pay $260 each or less. Join up.

They will ask to see your membership card however, so dont try and be a smart arse and just wander down saying your on sau. They gave me prices but wouldnt sell me the tyres until I was a member.

Certainly is QLD wide.

Most of our sponsors will give you some type of discount, that being fleet, 5%, 10% or 15%, depending on how much you are spending and what services you are getting.

I guess it depends on your own personal self and whether you want to join up. I know my "steep" $55 joining fee has paid for itself and beyond with being a member/executive of the club.

We run members only events which consist of cruises, breakfasts, skidpans, lvma's and social outings. We like to run our events so our members are getting something back for what they put in.

In September alone we have our Jamboree display, plus a lvma/skidpan and members meeting where you get to have your say where the club is heading. Not to mention the weekly social dinners which are normally held at Cactus Jacks at Loganholme on a Tuesday night at 7pm.

Along with the events, you are also offered the opportunity to purchase merchandise that is available to members only. The range currently consists of jackets, beanies, caps, lanyards and a soon to be released SAU 2006 calendar which is currently in the initial stages of production.

Our prices for membership are in line with all other states which makes this an even playing field for all members from different states so one can't say "they are paying less... why so" and the like.

I guess it's up to yourself whether you would like to join, but I have been lead to believe that the membership + discounts + events are well worth the intital $55 to join and the annual renewal of $25 each year.

Yes, I saved ~$200 on tyres last year, and saved ~$500 all up in costs from Mercury Motorsports in the last year too.

Plus had free breakfast at the Byron cruise, free parking up the top of the hill at the Byron cruise, entry into the upcomming LVMA/Skidpan day.

When I joined I was not an exec but put my hand up for doing something for the club, so really with the member support it means any member could stand for an exec position and have a greater say in how the club is run.

I am just really passionate about skylines and think that the investment I have made is very little compared to the returns I have seen.

Hi guys,

just wondering how long would it take for my membership to clear once i've submitted the forms and transferred fees. Just need the card, as i'm getting some work done at mercury and it'd be good to get the discount

    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
