With a thread like this and getting this long and it did take CRD a few post to get on it, the admin needs to place a note at the start of the thread saying that it is 1 persons comment and should be read in full. I think that peoples comments are good in forums like this but when they can sound damming people need to know the  whole story and not read the the first post only.

Beer Baron feels the thread is ok..........alright then I think I need to say it again then....Wreakedhead you really are an embarrassment. People are sitting back with a cold one on an otherwise boring Monday arvo, waiting to see what BS you will post next......come on then entertain us with your absurdidity.

yep I will stand by what I said.... Its great it lasted as long as it has, and to make that from an engine that stock is designed for about 150RWKW is amazing...

now rebuild with some more realistic components and it will live for longer.... but it will still go bang... just after more time :) 430kw that is crazy!!!

Im all for freedom of speech and so on.But what peeves me off

is when someone gets on a forum flaps their chops off about someone

else ,hasnt had the decency to allow the person whom he/she is slagging

to inspect or even form an opinion for themselves about a particular

subject ie part failure etc. tells us how he/she had the time to show the failed part to 4 different mechanics (whom will probably end up being 2 mates

who clean a lawn mower carby as their C/V in the auto world) but couldnt

find the time to show the slaggee/slagged to be person what exactly happened.

Not necessarily aimed at this thread only but using it as a good example.

ive been in this suitation before and went back to the mechanic and all what happened is that they denied it, so i went and got an engineers report from serveral workshops that are well known and have been in the industry for a while

and went back with my findings only to hear them say the report is bullshit there wrong and the rest of it .......after 6months of fart assing around they decided to fix the problem but did a dodgey job of it and 1year later it blew up again .....

from then on if anyone asks about this workshop i will tell them my personal opinion and tell them to stay away ..

buts its only fair to take it back to the workshop so they can have a look at it first and then go from there ..or from there response......

hope this helps to resolve this problem .

thought the following comments were interesting, remember this is the old code 45 from Melbourne, was on the market for ages before the right buyer was found. :)

youll be right, just make sure she's nice and warm b4 giving it curry. What piston and clearance are you running?

no idea mate, i bought the car with no idea what engine work it had done, but ive been killing it for the last 18months, and seems to be holding, it has really loud piston slap when its cold but after i warms up it goes away, i was told thats a tell tale sign it has forgies, but im not sure, so ill race it till it dies, then rebuild from scratch.

I'm surprised this thread is still here...but its good to see Jim posting up.

A question for you Jim, are 12.5 AFRs common in your street car tunes? many workshops will tune richer than that. Or did the owner want you to push it?

GOLD!

On that note I dont want to see this thread turn into a multi page argument. Both sides have had their say and I think thats sufficient.

If anyone would like the thread re-opened, I am happy to discuss it via pm.

Cheers,

Nick

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
