Changing Brakes

I would like to know: since the front brake pads are 50% worn out and the rear brake pads are 80% worn out. Should i change both the front and rear brake pads? due to bedding the new pads, does it matter if the front brake pads are old?

There's no problem replacing front and rear pads at different times. But if they are only 50% worn you don't really need to change them yet, just wait until the wear indicators start making a squealing noise
