I have posted this in here as well cause i figure some of you may of already modified yours and can give me the heads up.

Ok so as most of you would know that the standard lights in the R32's are not that flash so i was thinking of getting some white night globes.

Now the high beam H3's are not a problem and got them in and a HUGE difference.

Now the low beam H3C's are a little harder as i can't find anyone that stocks them in Australia and if i buy them from JAPAN then it would be $180 to get a set delivered to me. Now i dont know about the rest of you but i thought this was a little steep for globes.

Now i had a couple of options.

1) install a set of driving lights. This is reasonable cheap option but did have its draw backs as well. Mainly being that cause of the intercooler piping it doesn't leave much room which means that the overall size of the DL would be under 600MM and not offer me much more light.

The other problem is the legal issue's and getting booked for DL's as most people do and dont really want the worries of something so stupid for a defect

2) Find another set of globes that will offer me more visiblity at night making it easier to see and still maintain the original set up.

This proved a little harder than expected as the only H3C's i could find were stock replacement globes and would not offer me any more visibilty.

I couldn't find anything over 2000K and couldn't see the sence in paying $50 for stock globes which wouldn't improve visibilty.

3) Obvisouly a HID conversion is the best but very expensive and not what i want to do as i think its a bit excessive for what im looking for.

SO after lots of thought and studying of the globes and the stock head light set up i came up with another option which i think should work and cost about $50 in total for new low beam Blue Vision 4000K globes.

Still not 100% sure if it will and i'll keep all posted.

If anyone has upgraded there globes if you could post up or PM with where you got them that would be appreciated.

Cheers B

You can use H3 globes instead of H3C, you just have to modify the ground wire on it. This way you will be able to purchase Philips BlueVision globes to get that white/blueish output which is much easier to see at night.

As you probably already know, that H3C's are only pretty much only available as standard Narva items, or more expensive white japanese made globes. However I did see on Ebay that there was H3C's in a white/blue globe for around $89, however I think the H3 option is a much better one.

yeah i was thinking of modifying the H3's but it didn't work.

For some reason no matter what ground point i tried the H3's would not run in the low beam.

Yet run perfectly in the high beam (as inteded to)

I was told that you can solder onto the globe, but being stainless itseasier said than done.

I will have a play around some more and see what i come up with.

upgrade to whatever headlights i have on my 32! no clue what they are, maybe some sort of GTR ones, but they are awesomely bright and actually make use of the fog light button on the dash! (they've got seperate fogs built in.

well worth the upgrade IMO.

you can come check em out if you like sometime.

cheers

Might just do that Bart.

As i cant see sh!t with mine <_<

sounds like you got the same problem as my mates 32, his headlights are so dull on low beam that he drives around on high beam

thats his car

YEAH i think there all pretty much the same Tim, and you cant see Sh!t at night.

I have adjusted mine but i to get around with high beam most of the time. :P

Tried Phillips Hi Intensity or Plus 50? Bout the best you can get without going to High intensity discharge. [expensive!]

Cheers,

Shaun

Well the main problem is i can't find anyone that stocks them at all.

The Phillips are a stock replacement and i dont gain any extra light with them so a waste of $50 if you ask me!!!

And i have not been able to find anywhere in Tassie (or anywhere else at the moment) that stock aftermarket or stock H3C so it makes it a little hard.

But i have fixed my high beam and just drive with them at the moment :)

It is possible. Just did it to my GTS-4. Drill a hole in the base of some Narva H3 Artic Blue globes and solder (Stainless isn't fun but can be done) a spade terminal on the end and they run like a dream. PM me for more details or pics!

Cheers,

Shaun
