Ok last night i meet a guy with a Stock R32 GTR also, he checked out my car and said nice I/C. I thought and still think its a std I/C

BUT.....he is convinced mine is a 97 V-spec Cooler. Because it doesnt have the lines going through it. Can any one tell the difference, which comes to my next concern, someone told me i have a Tight rear LSD because at low speeds while turning it is jumpy. others say it is std.

Judd - I'm not sure if you can tell that if your car is jumpy it is due to the LSD. but then again I'm not an expert..

Also as far as I know I didn't think theres any difference at all between the regular GTR and Vspec intercoolers. I have a HyperRev that shows all the differences in the models between Series 1,2 and 3 GTR's and the Vspecs and it doesn't mention anything about coolers....

Hi Guys from what I can tell;

* the R33 GTR I/C has one more row of tubes than an R32 GTR I/C

* the tubes themselves are slightly bigger in diameter than an R32 GTR I/C

* there are visible weld joins on the tubes, that are either not there on an R32 GTR I/C or can't easily be seen.

I have not had an R32 and an R33 I/C together in the one place at the one time. It has been a couple of years since we had the R32 GTR I/C and I have just got an R33 GTR I/C and these are the things I remember as looking different.

What I can tell you for certain is, on the flow bench, the R33 GTR I/C flows about 5 to 8% more air at 500 bhp with 1.5 psi resistance. Turning that around, it flows the same amount of air with around 1 psi less resistance.

Hope that adds to the information bank.

Sydneykid,

Your car says R32 GTST RB31DET have you got a bored out 3litre block in your R32, must be a bit of a beast!!

and nismogtsx:

The R33 keeps the RB26DETT engine from the R32 GT-R. The power is still the same with an official 280hp (206kw) at 6800rpm, although inofficially it is ass-umed to be around 302hp. Increased peak turbo-boost of 0.84bar, an improved intercooler and changed computer control parameters make for a higher torque of 375Nm (271 lb-ft) at 4400rpm. As usual, power is deployed via the 5-speed Getrag gearbox and ATTESA-ETS to all four wheels.(from http://www.infinitig35.net/R33/GTR/index.php)

so sydneykid is right!!

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
