I recently fitted an Auto Meter air / fuel monitor. I found that when the turbo boosts up it leans right out to the point where it's dangerous.

Ive gone back to stock boost for now and it's a little better but still lean.

I bought a Malpassi adjustable rising rate fuel pressure regulator & gauge but found that when I went to fit it, the original regulator makes it hard to replace. Where you take it off there is no way to fit a hose connection. I have an adaptor coming express so will be able to fit it soon. I have seen a lot fitted on different cars and some are fitted with the adjuster screw & vacuum line pointing up. Iv'e seen others with it facing down. Does it make a difference?

I also bought a Bosch 044 internal fuel pump for it which I will fit this weekend.

Has anybody had similar problems with their RB25DET? If so how did you overcome it?

...and please dont say the words "ECU" or "Injectors" <_<

Any help much appreciated.

whats done to your car? if its pretty stocko.. I'll have a look at your crank angle sensor.. maybe its had it and playing up hence the leaning..

bring to mechanic.. check it out....

Should be better once you fit the 044.

If you need an adapter for replacing the FPR, talk to Steve at EFI Hardware - he can supply them so you can fit the Malpassi. I don't think it matters a bit which way up you mount the Malpassi.

Yeah ive heard the Bosch 044 should be more than enough to solve the problem. Just need the right fittings (thats the hard part). Ive bookmarked some threads here where people have said what parts I will need and where they got them. Im in Perth too so I hope I can find the right bits. We have an Enzed here I think? Hopefully they will have what I need. For anybody reading that has done this conversion to a 33 I have this question...It is obviously better to have an almost empty fuel tank to do the swap. Ive looked at the tank under the car and its mid mounted and on the passenger side kinda. Would it help to do the swap with the car on a forward incline? I want to be able to see right down to where the pickup sock sits (if that's possible). Ive read some threads and see that a lot of people start running out of fuel sooner than they should because of a high pickup point. To avoid having to remove it again I want to get it in right THE FIRST TIME.

I have an adaptor coming express for the Malpassi so will be able to fit it soon. I am getting it from Tweakit.net. It replaces the stock fuel reg altogether. I have read some people leaving the stock one in place and running the malpassi after it. I dont like that idea at all. Will be good with the adapter, i can mount the reg away from the fuel rail and connect direct to the fuel rail once the adaptor is on.

I should be able to check the fuel pressure on the regulator. I got a guage for it (goes to 150 PSI from memory). Ive seen figures thrown around in the forums. Seems to be 40 psi @ from what I read. At idle? Ive never used an aftermarket reg so I got no idea on the right figures.

Got the adaptor yesterday so I can get the malpassi up and running at least and see what pressure its running.

Are the Walbro a good pump?

I was going to buy a Walbro but didnt know much about them so I got the Bosch 044. Then I read all over the internet that the Bosch can be unreliable or break down early? Ill just get it in and cross my fingers.

My suggestion would be to get it onto a proper fast acting wide band lambda meter, ie. the type you will find at a dyno shop.

I think those Autometer a/f meters are a bit hit and miss.

I would be using a Bosch 044 over a Walbro pump and haven't had too many people complain about the ones we have fitted.

The walbros that come in on customers cars on the other hand...

Banjo fitting for top

Fitting and hosetail connector for bottom

Stainless steel clamp (70mm) for pump to bracket

Fuel hose clamps

Fuel hose (1/2 inch for top, 3/8 for bottom)

Larger power and earth eyelets (solder on)

The only thing I couldn't find anywhere is if anybody used a check valve with the 044 ???

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
