Below are the simple rules for the use of the classifieds section.

Any users that choose to ignore the rules as below will either have their posts or threads removed/edited, or may receive a warning. Once a certain warning level has been reached, a user will be banned for 2 weeks. If a further ban is incurred through the warning system, a permanent ban will contracted.

THE DO'S AND DONT'S OF THE SAU CLASSIFIEDS!

Sellers

  1. When starting a new thread, you must include a set price, or at the very least a ballpark figure that you are looking for. EOI's are not permitted
  2. Clearly state the type of item you are selling, the condition of the item, important details like modifications, kms etc, your location and contact details
  3. No continuous thread bumping! - If you insist on continually bumping your thread, your bumps will be deleted and if it continues, you will receive a warning from moderators. One bump every 24 hours is permitted.
  4. Do not repost your For Sale thread! - Edit your old thread if details change, and bump your old one instead. We don't want 5 different threads that could potentially confuse buyers and make a deal go sour.
  5. Post photos! - Where possible, add images to your post. This is by far the best way to show off your item and give any potential buyers the best indication as to items condition etc. Posting photos will also cut out the "pics please" comments and help you to sell your item faster. Click here for a tutorial on how to post photos on SAU
  6. No posting on behalf of others! - If your mates want to advertise their items here on SAU, tell them to register - If you dont own it, dont post it for sale.
  7. Absolutlly no business trading in the state area. This includes selling multiple items of the same or similar description.
(Use "Group Buys" if you wish to sell many of a particular item)

Buyers

Recently, moderators have been deleting too many stupid posts in the for sale section and as such, the following now apply:

  1. Absolutely no "Free Bumps" or "Nice car wish I could afford it" comments - If you like what you see and you wish to compliment the seller, send them a pm :) Only post on the thread if you have a genuine question or are genuinely interested in the items being offered for sale
  2. No price debates - put simply if you do not agree with the price being asked, do not comment on the thread. If you believe the seller is asking too much then either pm the thread starter or don't buy the items advertised - simple. There is to be no "My cousin can get it for much less" or "Your asking too much" comments. Again, comments like these will be deleted and if you persist in posting such comments, a warning will be issued.
  3. In light of recent dodgy traders that have popped up, if you see a user or thread that you think is suspicious, pm a moderator or report the post immediately!! - Dont start throwing accusations around.
  4. If you would like to make an offer to buy an item less than it has been advertised for, then please take the time to give them a pm. Do make offers in the open forum as it degrades the sale and maby be seen as being rude. You can however put, "Sent you a PM" in the thread if you feel it nessary.

Please consult the bad traders list before handing over any money!

These rules are here to ensure a safe and enjoyable trading environment for all users so please respect the rules and enjoy the forums.

yea i can't edit my post either. where's the option to do so?

as you can see, the original post is from 2005, so it's seven years old

since then they have disabled the option to edit your add for the protection of buyers and sellers, so that an add cannot be changed after the sale is completed and the item is in different condition than stated in the add originally

so if you do need to make any changes, do so by posting the changes in the for sale thread, or message a classifieds moderator

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
