Adam_RSX
I know that pretty much no-one here cares, but I found a couple of photos of Newman's Triumph http://www.fot-racing.com/historic/caption/2500TC.htm This article is pretty cool also http://www.templeoftriumph.org/tsoa/tsoa76sep.html Edited January 6, 2006 by Adam_RSX Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/97352-how-much-is-a-hr30-pnv-worth/page/2/#findComment-1841503 Share on other sites
Ghostrider
I think people who own some of the Nismo special & NUR spec Skyline GTR which were only made in the low 100's as opposed to 1000's may disagree about the rarity issue. I also thought (and I will stand corrected if I am wrong) that there were 5000 PNV's made? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Has to be one eh! PRODUCTION Skylines ...... does that define it accurately enough! You could very well be correct, as I don't have any personal, in black & white, hard copy evidence as to the numbers made. I only have the word of Hiroshi Taki, that they were made between 1983 - 1985 and that there were only 2000 made. I suppose we could double check his data, but as the president of the HR30 Paul Newman Register in Japan, I thought he would have known a little about what he was talking about. Maybe I can claim my PNV to be THE RAREST OF THEM ALL, as they were only manufactured from 1983 - 85 yet mine is registered in NSW as 1982. Is it a legend, a myth, or just a mirage this PNV in my garage? Ravenoak
In NSW the new no turbo's for p platers would be having an effect on cars less than $10 grand (typical p plate buying territory). As a side, I noticed nearly 1 mil new cars were sold in Oz last year. That is a NEW car for every 1 in 20 man, woman or child in this country Most of those people would have offloaded a car to get into a new one. No wonder second car values are shiite. Old supply and demand for second hand cars has very much swung it in the buyers favour. Still being the original owner of Zapata's Skyline I can tell you it was a nice car but as many of you have said, trying to explain to someone why they should pay extra for car named after a man more famous these days for spaghetti sauce is a tough ask. As a side note all of mates nicknamed the car "salad dressing" when I owned it. Not derogatory mind you, they just didnt understand Paul Newman's connection to cars.
