Where Do U Get Ur V35 Serviced At?
str8g replied to Will Power's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey, i would recommend x-speed, c-red. Coz i havent heard any negative comments about them. I used to go to imports 101 but i have heard some negative comments about them aswell. For minor service i have a local workshop close to where i live and they do a good service. But as rs73 said.. if its a major service you are doing, like a 50,000 k service, then you better pay that extra and go to a good workshop. x-speed quoted me $430 to fit some new front brake pads (can't remember the make but pretty good ones) and machine my rotors. After shopping around that was a pretty decent price. -
That sounds like a good idea. Would be good to have a v 35 cruise. click on the link below to see the pics of my car.

Wanting To Drop My Coupe! [moderate]
str8g replied to GT350's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey i have 350z King springs on my car. They are a bit softer than the standard springs and you can probably get them for a cheap price. They are also ADR approved. check my link below. -
Nicely said Scathing.. with the big engine on the V you don't need to run a lot of boost into the engine to get some good power, 280rkw is pretty good. So if your on a budget go for the supercharger and if you have the $$$$ to spend go for the turbocharger. If i was in the $$$$, would probably look at fitting a supercharger to deal with the lower revs while the turbo takes over the at the higher rev band. I found a good article about superchargers and turbochargers check this out: http://www.superchargersonline.com/content.asp?ID=19
-
Oh ok, what i meant to say was that lower compression engines will work better with both turbocharger and supercharger because of the extra boost that will be coming into the engine. However, the V's run on high compression thus giving you power when you rev up the car. The supercharger will be easier to install because they have fewer components and parts while on the other part turbochargars are complex having to modify the manifold, exhaust, intercoolers, additonal oil lines. But at the end of the day its up to you. You will probably need a expert mechanic to install the turbo. The supercharger would work cheaper in my opinion on a N/A car.
-
Hey, you are better off getting a supercharger for the V coz not much is needed in regards to fitting and pipe work. And also turbos work better with a low compression engine, our V's run on a high compression engine again thus making it easier and cheaper to get a supercharger. However if you really want to get a turbo, spare yourself the trouble now and get a proper turbo e.g garrett, hks, apexi. I once got a cheap turbo from china for my old r33 and literally it lasted 2 weeks. They don't work well when under high heat. I ended up buying a gt30/35. I would have saved myself 1,500 plus labor.

Help - Correct Tire Sizes For 20's On V35 Coupe
str8g replied to jonnnsyr33's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey..that sounds pretty tough.. i dont know whether this will help.. but i have 20x8.5 fronts and 20x10 rears. On the front i have 245/35 and i didnt like the look because it has too much tyre (meaning that if i got a 245/30 they would have been perfect). Having said that i think they would look perfect on 20x9. Not sure whether you will be over stretching them, but on the other had i have a friend of mine running 19x9.5 on 235/40 and 19x10.5 on 265/35 JDM style. They look good appart from the scratches on the rim.. -
looks good.. mate.. i like them... You can always get some spacers to get the correct offset... maybe 10mm spacers...

Where To Buy The Right Offset Rims?
str8g replied to Tokyo Geoff's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
And also suspension does play a role as well... I have 275/30/20 rears and 245/35/20 fronts. but my suspension is pretty soft thus making the ride comfortable. -
I like the rims... looks phat.... i recon the 10mm spacers will look good on the front. I have 15mm spacers if you want them... I bought them for my car but they were a bit too small for the front. So had to get some 25mm...

Where To Buy The Right Offset Rims?
str8g replied to Tokyo Geoff's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Its pretty tuff mate, I got my rims with a silly offset of about +35. So i had to by some spacers to get the perfect fit. You can put an order with tempe tyres and they can get you rims with the right offset you want. (they get there rims ordered from the US) The only prob is that you will have to wait a while and pay more -
Hi, im in Perth and paying 900 per year insurance with Just Car im 28yrs. Not too bad i guess for full cover...

Lowering V35 Cp, [std 350z Springs]
str8g replied to GT350's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey guys 'GT350 & PARAGON' I dont remember the drop in mm, but i pretty sure its about 15mm - 20mm good drop. My friend has them on his 350z and he's got '19, looks good. I also got the springs with '20 and its pretty low. When i say they are soft its not a bad soft, the springs are softer than the standard ones but still good enough for driving. I will try attaching some pics for you guys.... -

I got some 350z king springs on mine.. after doing some research i ended up buying them coz they were the cheapest and they are ADR approved. They are a direct fit and have been perfect. Only prob is that they are a bit softer than the standard springs. But if you have low profile tyres you will probably want a softer ride. -
Thanks men, yeh the r33 was just a beast that i could not tame... I could actually take it out for a drive on a saturday and it would feel like a whole new car. Anyway if i end up making lots of money in the future, I might end up getting 33 toy again
