  1. On a V36 coupe's 19" OEM sport wheels, you could run up to 245/40 and 275/35 with no issues. Had these sizes in Dunlop SportMaxx for two years. They were nice but got too loud towards the end of their life, didn't care for it though because the car was too damn loud anyways haha. Why run same size tires on staggered wheels?
  2. Haltechs are very good as well but a little over priced IMO, the plug in loom is definitely a plus.
  3. Well I'm using an RB26 head so I opted for an Adaptronic ECU. Has a ton of features and great support.
  4. I believe you will need twin GT28's and larger to hit 500whp.
  5. I'm running an Adaptronic on mine with no complaints, they have top notch support too.
  6. +1 on GT25's being too small. They will come on amazingly quick but will run out of juice too soon. Totally doable though. What are your hp goals?
  7. Thanks a lot mate. I'll try it out and see what happens Cheers,
  8. Trust me, I've driven the VQ37VHR for five years and spent a lot of time on myG37 forums. It's a great engine to run naturally aspirated. I just wanted raw power & torque with an M/T gearbox and non restricted tuning capabilities.
  9. Mine also made peak hp at 5500 rpm then just dropped. Cams and a bigger hot side should take care of that.
  10. An aftermarket ECU is near impossible to run with the VHR head (VVEL controller). People are only tuning and are limited to an UpRev flash. Converting to an HR head is a whole different project. It actually handles better now because I fit in some coilovers
  11. Yup! The VQ VHR with the 5AT has no where close to the potential of an RB26/30.
  12. When compared to domed piston heads, yes. But not when compared to relieved piston tops.
  13. As they said, it depends on your engine's condition. I wasn't so lucky and jammed my RB30 on the dyno. So I ended up building it anyways.
  14. One more question, will you face any clearance issues running 10.25mm lift with CP Pistons? My CP's are flat don't have any valve reliefs in them.
  15. Thanks mate Also in that video, my OEM diff is too tall for the RB25, I'm redlining 3rd gear at 225 kph to give you an idea. So I have a swap planned and coming soon.
  16. I'm so jealous! I have a Nitto Oil Pump and an extended crank collar but still afraid of running it past 7k rpm haha Maybe I'll grab an ATI damper to help grow a pair.
  17. I never tried it myself but I heard many just take it to the dealer for an "idle re-learn". Hope that helps.
  18. Yeah the engine took a dump on the dyno, when we took it apart we found out the bearings were shot. So I figured it was time to rebuild it. The car is now running at 17psi WG pressure and 21 psi with boost controller. Still room for more but it's getting too bloody hot here so I'm keeping it safe The Turbo came off a 2JZ that made more than 500whp btw. It's not the best turbo in town I agree but I got it for dirt cheap just to use as a starting point. It will be replaced with a nice 6266 along with some poncams as soon as the weather starts cooling down again
  19. Thanks mate. Is your box a push or pull type?
  20. Just a quick update, Engine was rebuilt with CP Pistons & Manley Rods, Nitto Oil Pump and ACL Bearings. Figured I'd do it right while the engine was opened up anyways. Here's what she was like on 12 psi
  21. Thanks a lot mate. Raw Brokerage in the US sure know the RB platform very well. It's where I got most of my RB parts from. Looking at the below Nismo Shifter from eBay and keeping in mind your RB20 was off an N/A http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISMO-SOLID-SHORT-SHIFTER-NISSAN-SKYLINE-HCR32-ECR33-ER34-R32-R33-R34-RB25-RB20-/221198637398?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3380775956&vxp=mtr Would I need: 32839-RN580 or 32839-RNR40?
  22. Respect! What redline RPM are you aiming for?
  23. The vendor selling me these is telling me the bushing in the lower end is different on the push and pull type. Guess I'm just going to have to gamble with this one.
  24. So you're confirming a short shifter for a push type will work on a pull type? Are you 100% on this? I'm about to make an overseas transaction
