manifolds off is a pest of a job, especially intake manifold. i have to remove my exhaust manifold to have some cracks rewelded and the faces machined and im still putting it off as im not lookin foward to the time it takes or the job itself. definatly get a few quotes
  3. to the best of my knowledge, you cant. you have to be authorised by hks for it (i believe dealership and trained to tune the computer) i know gavin woods is a hks dealer, well his contact details are listed as a dealer but i dont know if he tunes the fcon v. as far as i know, your up for a trip to sydney to see bd4s
  4. yer i guessed thats what you were doing. things have a habit of needing help in order for them to be removed, suspension parts tend to be hard to move as well.
  5. car conversions are fun. good to see yours is comin along gordo *trip down memory lane* devil engine, not even worth a clear photo... oooh yer cue giant wiring diagram and repairs to find out why the hell half the electrics didnt work. nearly done, only one thing left to do.. have fun! anyway gordo, looks good, keep us updated mate,
  6. just buy a copy gtr wing and replace your series 2 wing. there are plenty of bodykit places that can supply a wing for you
  7. sight for sore eyes is a good thing as in "ah my eyes are sore from seein the same thing again and again" its an old phrase, i wouldnt be offended by it.
  8. sparc was still active when i last checked, however i let my cams licence lapse as i havent used it and didnt plan on doing anything till my car was in better readieness for it. i do know they were having a bit of financial trouble a while back, but afaik they were still running. there is also a list of cams car clubs on the cams website.
  9. ive had both done over time, when bought my car i didnt have the luxury of doing the tests as i bought from auction. but in the past when things have gone wrong and i needed to know the health of the engine i had them done, leakdown test can show up things that a compression test wont as far as i know. i would definatly get the leakdown test done, i know for a fact that gary has the gear to do the test as hes done it on my car.
  10. you dont need a performance workshop to do a compression test or a leakdown test i had mine done by garry at garrys supertune in southport, but any competent mechanic will be able to perform these tests for you, infact it would be a plus to have a licenced mechanic look at your car which some "performance" workshops dont always have, otherwise if your really wantin the best, take it to gavin woods
  11. dunno about anyone else but personally id rather just a general "where" rather than what is quite possibly their home address or accurate direction of where it is. ie:- spotted on x road or spooted in suburb. otherwise this thread starts to make peoples cars easy targets if details of where they are parked of a night ect are on display. i saw smr33 in my driveway on sunday. i was standing in the driveway. thats the only skyline ive seen in a while, there isnt even one in the garage here .
  12. Gday guys I have a few questions bout r32s in particular how hard is a rb20det swap into a na r32. will it just plug straight up to the standard loom or am i gonna have to buy a det loom to go with the engine? are the handbrake cable setups any different between turbo and non turbo? does the r32 turbo dash have any differences in comparison to the non turbo? ie boost guage in the dash cluster ect. any help is appreciated guys James
  13. turbocharged r33 gtst came with lsd standard as far as i know ive been through 2 stock lsd centers, the one im on now is screwed, i get stuck on steep driveways with one wheel in the air spinning and the other one doing nothing. they do tend to wear out if you give them a hard life so that could be one reason why everyones lookin for them. mechanical lsds are not a standard item and are fairly noisy so if you diff is noisy as you turn corners tightly at low speed then theres a good chance you have a mechanical lsd quickest way to tell if your diff is a lsd is to look on the housing for an orange sticker telling you so.
  14. happy bday glenn
  15. an old input shaft or a broken off broom handle worked for me. then again im just pov spec and dodgy
  16. spotted a blue 32 on the smith st exit, i stopped and reattached her cooler pipe for her, nice lookin 32 tho.
  17. happy bday mark
  18. im pretty sure ive seen your 33 parked under the airtrain a few times rob
  19. late afternoon waterpump changes in the warwick repco carpark usually scares people off, ah fond memorys of slips 31. lol. nah most fun i have had in a long time was at morgan park, i went to qr track day once but my car wasnt tuned right but i still had fun smashing a hsv gto in a straight line run qr is asaa(i think thats the acronym they use) so cams has nothing to do with it. i will attend any event going when i have more time on my plate. skirmish and go karts were organised a while back and both were and absolute blast and would definatly go karting at darlington park again to see glenn post some of the slo... er i mean fastest lap times you will ever see outta a gtr driver
  20. or the guy in the paddywagon who tried to head on me under a bridge so he could defect me. theres good and bad, just the luck of the draw
  21. drive to suit conditions does not mean no speed limit, dont be fooled if a police officer believes you are driving well over a suitable speed for the area and situation, you can and will be fined. its not a open invitation to do 140 kph on a road that you cant see whats coming round the bend due to the sugar cane blocking your view

    Hid

beats me, i use hid in my 33.
  23. i was out there too, but not in a skyline. something a little more suited to drift than my 33 another here http://www.avatography.com/index.php?album...5%2F&pic=12.jpg and here http://www.avatography.com/index.php?album...5%2F&pic=16.jpg
  24. All those roads are old news, . Murwilumbah police dont like you coming into town that way either. It is a nice drive however, just remember to drive inside your limits and within the constraints of the road rules on these roads.
  25. can we start on rb engines in s13s yet?
