  1. Is that this one http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=100138 Be a bit out of the price range if your looking a GTST's Sounds like an absolute bargain for the money spent. On imports 101 they are an actually business with a shop which takes a lot of the unknowns out of importing.
  2. I think hrd-h30 was merely pointing out the exaggerated figures you were using as an example, very similar to 0-100 and 0-400m times you just posted. You should maybe include the decimal places and correct times(a mazda rx8 does 0-100 in 6.99 not 6.1) Not having a go at you mate, its just saying that there useless is wrong and it does give an indication of what a performance car is like. They are by no means 100% as the results can vary from test to test and saying a car that does 5.3 compared to 5.8 is going to be quicker at 160kph or 200kph is not always the case. And before someone jumps in some old or obscure(super) car with wildly differing results to another,go grab a wheels/motor and flick through the back. Its all within a few tenths either way not seconds.. As for 0-160kph times or standing km times they would be good if everyone published them but I prefer 0-400m. I mean how long do you want to race for?Where are you going to race another car to top speed? Thanks for the thread though, I've never actually thought about 0-100 in regards to distance travelled.
  3. Of course there useful, just like any other performance measurement. If a car does 0-100 in 6s you have a 14 sec car If a car does 0-100 in 5s you have a 13 sec car If a car does 0-100 in 4s you have a 12 sec car While this is a generalisation you get the idea, where it does get blurry is when you start to add a modified car. Big turbos(or incorrectly sized ones),gearing, tyres, high stall convertors, nitrous can all alter the 0-400m time dramatically and the 0-100kph. Because almost all "new" car manufactures use these figures its easy to compare vehicles. As for 2wd guys who think 4wd is cheating. Well all you have to do is next time you line someone up at the lights(at the drags) just wind down your window and ask if they could please take off slowly and then race when you catch up as your undertyred/overpowered car is only fast after 80kph,I'm sure they'll oblige
  4. Are you talking about the white plug behind the drivers side kick panel? What would you like to know?
  5. Stock boost is between 9-11 psi depending on your exhaust, all in by 4000rpm. Sounds like your wastegates arent opening, unlikely they would be jammed shut, likely hes plummed the hoses up wrong and there not receiving a vacuum/boost signal as previously said...
  6. Got pulled over last week, the first thing they asked me for was permits for my mods! Then they asked me lots of things while they spent the next 20mins going through my car...he had the defect book in his hands when he got to my window. I bit my tounge and remained calm and managed to get off without a sticker.I'm sure if I had not, there would have been a little yellow addition to my window....
  7. Sound very cheap. Have they done a rb26 head before?
  8. Does it do it all the the time? Every now and then I'll get really high readings, spoke to the tuner and he mentioned it could be the fuel pump. I've just replaced it and its still playing funny buggers, highest knock of 120 when overtaking in fifth gear with less than 3 qtr throttle. All other times sits on mid to low 30's!
  9. Looks impressive! Is that a heat sheild near the strut tower?Hard to make out in the pic. Any plans to take it to the plex, should have some awesome mph!
  10. The R33 crank is better because it already has larger oil pump drive on it,the R32 crank will need a jun or custom collar made to suit. There was a good thread about this a while back.
  11. I think Geoff is talking about the front turbo as in he had two,as for the original question I've heard of over 400rwhp on a WA car how long it lasted I dont know. This doesnt mean much but a few GTR's have done mid 11's on them. Popular opinion is dont go over 1bar unless you want the ceramic wheel to fall off. As for dust destroying engines theres been a few posts about it.
  12. ..... Don't buy Lucas Pads.... Why?
  13. Yep used syntrans 75/85,alot smoother than standard.
  14. Are you are talking about the wheels rubbing on full lock? I have 19x8 on my 32 and dont have any problems, offset and how low your car is will affect it.
  15. What size do most of the high HP GTR run ? The fastest one on street tyres doesn't run one so theres a option.
  16. Had this same problem myself, turned out to be air regulator. Only thing is you have to remove the intake mani to get to it,if you have a manual you might be able to work out which hoses run to it(bit hard to describe)then block the hoses and check if thats the problem. Otherwise you'll have to remove the intake. *note this is what I did to fix it,might not fix yours...
  17. Would be nice but I was told they wont cover any "timed" events. Whether they be racetrack or motorkhana in other words no CAMS events. Only driver training days...
  18. No that means we will racing each other as they let a 1 of the 6 lanes through at a time usually getting only one run before its the next lanes turn. How is this different to a normal Wednesday night?
  19. I got one of these letters as well (HBF) So even though he sold you the car hes classed as a "independent authorised valuer" Do you know if you can use any caryard for the valuation? Thanks
  20. Put me down for a spot Hey Dan when you say book a lane whos racing in the other lane? No racing against each other? Cheers
  21. Go at least 8m,mines 6m and theres not much room in front of the bench. Oh yeah and height make it tall enough to fit a car hoist, turns your 3 car garage into a 4 car!
  22. Won't fit straight on,you'll need a "Boss kit" to suit. Think supercheap may have them.
