  2. cheers guys, now the hunt for it ok i poped the hood and found the internal gate had a hose blown of it.. the hose feed back to the hks ebc black box thing in the hook.. would this of caused the big smoke puff and dodgy spool up... btw i cant drive it as my dash is out just wana know if this could of caused it
  3. while driving yesterday up the high way, my car suddenly shuttered, and pooof, a big black cloud of smoke shot out behind me, then all seemed fine, but once taking of again i wasnt blowing smoke, wasnt shuttering, but on boost the turbo would spool up as usuall, then once about 2-3k rpm the turbo spool just goes nuts, its still a smooth ride but the sound is like the turbs is gonna spin itsself inside out.. now i have a faulty silicone joiner on the i/c piping, could this of just busted?? maybe a dead gasket, or am i going to have to burry my turbo cheers guys
  4. before i got my car tuned my car did this, way to stop it havin a spazz, was to rev it so you got boost and vent the bov, and then it stoped serging, but it was really gay because at a set of lights you look like a tool reving ya car ahahah spechly if theres some shit hot car next to ya.... but thats how i solved my serge before i got the safc and tune so yeah....

  13. my car has been fluttering since i bought it, about a year.. i always thought the flutter was the ssq bov, untill lastweek wehn i relised the bov was lock tightened shut , but in the week its been riceing theres no performance gained, but in the year of it fluttering the turbo has been fine and no damage, same lag same everything..althogh im only running 9psi..... my experience
  14. hahaha no wories mate glad to be an insperation ahahah, man i would ge the proper primer, just incase, for the sake of it, cos it would be a shame to have them on a week and the paint not take proply or something, and yeah i took the whole caliper of, not to hard a job just brake line and 2 bolts, turns out awsome that way, one warning, bleed your barakes once there back on as takin the lines of gets them full of air, and watch reaplying the caliper that brake fluid doesnt get on the newly painted caliped, that shit chews the paint straight off, good luck mate

  16. got a mirror out and looked at the valve as i started the car, and as the car started the valve lifed so it was venting air, i put my ssq back on and it runs good as gold again, so tomorro ill put in a heavier spring and see how i go, cheers for replies guys
  17. dick smiths, jaycar any electronics store mate, also if its a slim line ps2 i advise not to fit in between center concole and passanger seat as it can get squashed agenst and then you will find out like i did that sonys arnt built for that spot
  18. yeah cheers for replies guys, if the bov is opening and it is causing it to run slightly rich, would it harm my engine?? asin would it be right to drive to the shop and back?
  19. ill be sellin my safc in about a month if ya keen .. i also think the safc tuned is noticable, but i got a cam gears fitted also so might be the cam gears making it smother ahahah.
  20. atmo mate, and unless i have it that tight taht it wont vent proply and get flutter, when it was idling like a pig it vented awsome, but its that tight now i get reversion, my old bov was the same and was tuned with reversion and really tight , but it shouldnt really matter should it
  21. got a new bov otherday, and today i wacked it on and was adjusting it, i think it was a bit loose as the idle was up and down a fair bit, anyways i took it for a spin and getting up the street it became really bad didnt really wana drive juste idle serge, only traveled 200m odd, anyways i limped it home, and tighteded it up and got it idleing normal, but i have noticed its blowing a little black smoke, as i tightened it up more, the smoke got less and less, now i DID do a search on it and i found black smoke usualy means running rich, and my car runs slightly rich but can my bov's spring tension effect how rich it can run??? im a little worried to drive it now, no performance loss or anything, all idles the same now just a slight haunt of black smoke now, any ideas? and yes i will put original bov back on tomorro cheers guys
  22. took it apart and it had 2 springs in it, i would say a high and low boost spring in it, kept the soft spring in it as only runnin 9psi and hopefully stops reversion,
  23. i had a ssq bov on the car when i bought mine, and it must of been adjusted to tight, and the ssq sound i was hearing was flutter, but i was none the wiser as i thought it was the ssq, i only found out due to i bought a greddy type s (knock of) and put it on and it also was to tight and was still making the flutter, played around with it for a while and still can not get rid of the flutter, i got a high flow turbs but f_&* knows whats goin on, maybe cos they were both cheap knock ofs, the flutter has done no damage to my turbs though, ..oh well thats my rant
  24. i had posted up this problem a few weeks ago and alot of the guys said its cos it could be running rich and the unburnt fuel goes bang, hence backfire
  25. i found top racing in bently really good, if ya mate isnt modifying it, and needs no tune ups a/m parts fitted ect ect and is after a minor service, in the d.i.y. guides there are some really helpfull guides to changing motor and gear oil, sparkpluges ect ect
