  1. is there a difference in the actual cranks themselves in hks sI II or III? or is it more a case of step 1 - crank only, step 2 - crank and pistons, step 3 - crank rods and pistons cheers! david
  2. yeah i'm also curious as to whether its 2.8 increased through a monster over-bore or through a stroker hit. if it's been stroked, who made the crank. cheers david
  3. haha yeah saw you doin the rounds through dicko mate car sounded tuff! d
  4. lol i might have started a new job by then. i don't really fancy my chances of having that day off but i'll keep my fingers crossed and you boys and girls updated. d
  5. i didn't have any problems whatsoever on my gtst with the ewp. i was very impressed with it. and i've yet to hear about one failing. i'd love to hear any problems people have had tho! and re: the electrics. if you install ANYTHING dodgily on a car you're gonna have headaches. it isn't hard to wire one of these suckers up, nor is it hard for anyone with a head on their shoulders to make the wiring reliable. d
  6. wasn't that a flywheel figure?? d
  7. i'd see how far you can push your current setup before you splash out on new goodies. perhaps speak with some other tuners with lots of gtr's under their belt and see if they can offer what you're after. having said all that, there's no point in pushing your combination past its limits. its a fine balancing act really... d
  8. a water pump is a water pump. it has a pretty basic job to perform. i cannot see how one pump will be "no good" for a particular engine. did they give you any reasons or anybody else heard this? from memory the davies craig pump itself is <$200 and there's a EWP controller that allows you to set engine temps (through flow rate of the pump) and keep the water pump running after engine shut-off to assist in cooling everything down. i've yet to hear bad things about the thing... d
  9. my abs makes a funny hissing noise sometimes... d
  10. davies craig leccy pump's are pretty cheap and worked well on my old car.... jsut a thought... d
  11. i've heard of ss's making 320awkw. that was on a 33 vspec with stock bottom end. 044, 6xx cc inj's, pfc, timing wheels. and, from memory, that was about it. i'll see if i can track him down and ask him exactly what he did. d
  12. hahaha. yeah i've noticed that my future place of employment has a few gtr owners!! :D the more the merrier i say!!! d
  13. sure i'll lend you the cash. 25% p.a. d
  14. i can recommend ian at powertone wholeheartedly. he's got a guy there (can't remember his name but he looks like a wooly-mammoth) and he is simply a genius with the welder. some stuff he's done will leave you speechless. more people need to have seen jayce's exh! d
  15. price drop to $25,500! needs a new home peeps! cheers david
  16. aaah that was you stevie. noice front bar man! and mik, don't fancy swapping your rims for mine do you? i mean it'd be a good investment for you cos it'd keep your car so much more original! :) d
  17. ah andy. saddening pix man! keep us posted as to how she goes! d
  18. i'm kinda shocked it was the yanks, actually. they have had such a small amount of exposure to the gtr compared to the supra over there. i'm gonna go find out more about this car. d
  19. i love it. read my other post in the other thread about it . clearly, this is NOT a skyline. its a GTR. the skyline namesake, hence the inline 6 will be done and finished for this car because nissan are clearly NOT replacing the 34 with a new model, but designing a completely new car. i reckon its a BIG step forward for nissan and i think its absolutely in the right direction. d
  20. man thats gayer than aids! really sorry to hear it!!! tony is, hands down, the best in canberra. if its any idea of his work, ferrari, lambo, porsche, among many others, send their cars from all over australia to his shop. rest assured, it'll be as close to perfect as can be. but realistically, i'd hazard a guess that he "might" turn your car away. he usually only does insurance work/prestige/euro work. your average kitted beast is not where he pitches himself in the marketplace so don't be offended if he says no.... new gel are a pack of wank3rs imo. and while jerry's a top block, specify you don't want a front bar made out of bog if he does the work prestige and athol morris would be my other suggestions. d
  21. hi nick. welcome to being an "active" forum browser can't wait to see the car now. i remember checking it out in kingston one day many moons ago and then it just dissapearing! but congrats on getting it all completed. how many clicks to go before she's considered bedded in? cheers! d
  22. i had a chat to that bloke with the white 33 gtr with gold bbs lm's. tis a good combination, lm's on a 33
  23. spotted - heaps of lines (2x white 33's 3 x32's, a 4 door 34) at stonefest last night. and god do i feel rough!!!! d
  24. wow. talk about taking out the ugly tree!!! but clearly someone enjoys what he/she's done to it. *sigh* d
  25. i agree to a certain extent. i'm a big fan of tasteful bling. like erica's gt! its got spinners and a monster kit and just reeks of bling, but its the coolest forrester ever! there is a line however, and a lot of people have cars way to far over it imo. and youssef's car, imo is pretty tasteless but has the grunt to back it all up. i don't like the paint, wheels or interior, but its quick and therefor i respect it! each to their own! d
