I can guarantee you by the end of your P-plater days, you will have gotten sick of the R33 and will be looking to get a new car. Therefore doing all this conversion work will be a waste of money. You probably won't even be bothered to put the RB25DET back in.

I traded my R33 GTS-T in. It was maybe $1000 or $2000 less than the market value (maybe not actually seeing that it was suffering from some electrical and ABS issues) but yes you'll find its way more convenient than the whole private selling thing. Remember when negotiating trade value to say to the dealer that you will not be including the mods. You'll be able to sell the mods separately for more money and the dealer probably won't care but its just to cover your ass just in case upon trade-in he's wondering where that FMIC went.

Get a spraycan which has a colour closest to your car colour, sand the damaged area smooth, clean it thoroughly, mask surrounding area and spray.

Retrofit = taking the projector/HID unit of an existing car and fitting it to your old headlight housing. This includes not only the HID system (eg the bulbs + ballast) but also the projector lens - this way you know that the HID system was meant for that particular projector lens. It is the most costly, but gives the best results. For R33, it really is the only way as the reflectors on the R33 are way too poor (i.e not focussed enough) for HID lights.
