  1. How cool was that? What a great idea to do that instructional thread... Did you really use that large of a Screwdriver? and What wheels are they, are they standard? Sorry, still learning, but looks good.. and thanks.
  2. yes ShadowKnyght, I have got more than enough to look at in regards to Importers. Having said that, I will not knock back any other opinions, but as you said not about what colour preferences people have.
  3. Yes, true... and as you said, use swirl remover or polish to remove swirl marks... However, be careful as if you do it wrong you may get add to the quantity of those swirl marks or burn through to the undercoat...
  4. Thanks ShadowKnyght and your thoughts are noted, Black excites you... As I said we all have our preference. As for Back on Topic, the Topic actually is V35 Import Brokers can we all get back to it... and for those that have helped, I am still wading through all the stuff. Thanks again...
  5. So Wax removes Swirl Marks does it? Sorry buddy but a wax protects the paint but does not bring out shine in dull, faded paint that is full of swirl marks. That is what polish is for... and polish is what adds swirl marks (sometimes). Unless you are good at detailing and paint preparation, those circular lines under bright service station lighting will not be fixed with Wax alone. Swirl Marks in a car are a very difficult thing to fix, once they are there. If there were none to start off with then you are so lucky.
  6. Again, everyone has their own opinion and at this stage having a black car, any type pull into a Servo at night, it is full of swirl marks. Even brand new... As for Blue or Red they can have it too. The white will also to some extent, except you will struggle to see them.. I haven't actually seen a White V35 in the flesh but (don't be sorry) White is the pick. Will never own a Black or another Red...
  7. Cool, someone likes white. The red looks good too, just from pictures anyway... A mate gets one next week... As for Black it has to have perfect paint to do it justice.
  8. So no white for a while?
  9. Thanks for your input, so you don't like White... cool more for me!! I don't like Black, or dark colours for that matter. Looks are all in the eye of the beholder. Just for information, 10 Silver 3 White and 2 Black V35 Manuals in www.carsales.com.au for Australia.
  10. Must be picky coz i want that all, Leather, Manual, Premium and a Sunroof. Nismo spoiler does not bother me to be honest, the Impul one is better... As for the Silver one sounds good, but did I mention I want that in White... exchange rate, your right!! kids? Keep away from a bigger back seat.
  11. Doesn't suit me then... Kinda in Melbourne, close but not exactly.
  12. Thank you kind Sir, all good points and the link to the Auction site was great, the missus found an STI Forester too, except that can not be imported we think!!! As for that site that is for one Auction in one location, correct? Yes the Yen is not good, but then the whole world economy is no better, need to wait a bit with the fingers crossed. After Christmas might help, however the poor value in the Yen may push the Auction price down a little too, so that is worth watching too. At this stage I have spoken to a couple of importers and I am so aware of they magnificant assistance, so thank you for your feedback on your experience. The whole purchase process, attitude (helpfulness) of the importer and the finding of the right car is very important to me and I will choose quite carefully and thankfully I am in no real hurry. Especially considering the exchange rates. Buying in Australia may be the right choice at the moment and I am looking just in case. Thanks for the Import Duty and Shipping cost fact, I hadn't thought that far ahead to be honest, but it makes perfect sense. The calculator is good too and it is another link in the chain. P.S I like your car, if only it had a Sunroof.
  13. Hello Nigel, PM sent and thanks.
  14. Can you post a picture of them b4 you install, I might see if I can get a price direct from Oz. But thanks for the info... especially considering I don't even have a bleeding car yet. Better what for the Yen to recover, if it does. Are they hard to fit, maybe you can do some instructions for us un-intelligent folk.
  15. Thank you to everyone!!!
  16. Back on subject, I would suggest that you get the opinion from a Car Windscreen installer, there are some lightly abrahesive 'chemical based cleaners out there and they can buff the window too... That should lift most blemishes.
  17. Trivia...? or 'useless information'? Good work!!
  18. Can you please supply the Part number and what year model it fitted?
  19. Sorry I am so late, but I am glad that I found this thread... Mr BB, you Camera work has improved and all of the shots are very good. A 400D nice... I dabble a bit in the still captures too and I like me motorsport. As for "Mr Mines" what a cool story and as for the Car, unbelievable. I want one...
  20. I hope you can make mine 'Cruise', perhaps you need to keep me a set...
  21. Oh, ok... I would of thought that was a bit high, but I may be wrong. Not by much though!
  22. I think you can get a lead plugged into the back of the Bose for an MP3 Player (Ipod) though. Wouldn't imagine it is a big deal and then you could buy a big storage device and play it direct. Even the SWC (Volume) would work too... There is someone in this thread that could help...
  23. So where are the links, show us a dealer or 2 or are they just driving around?
  24. Thanks Bobby... I understand all that you said but there is not much locally where I am. In Melbourne there probably is, but I haven't seen much that excites me on the net.
  25. Looks like a wiring earth kit and quite a well done one, as they can sometimes be everywhere.
