  1. The plastic bit inside around the wheel well... THanks In syndney please
  2. Looking for one of these. Around the $100-$160 mark I will pay provided in good condition. Thanks Ben
  3. Tango - sorry mate I didn't realise how old the post was. I did a search as I am looking for some. The guy there had the R33 listed - so maybe after you went through there and got yours sorted they've updated there info The guy gave me the relevant kit no.s for when I wanted to purchase but I haven't as yet done anything. Think I have lost the bit of paper but should be alright. Thanks mate!
  4. any servo that has a workshop will take it. Also any mechanic should take it. I think they get it picked up for free anyway so just drive round to an industrial area where there are a few mechanics and shouold be fine, most will be happy enough to take it. Sometimes they make you pour it though, so dont spill it on your work clothes. Otherwise the tip.
  5. thanks guys just a loose connection
  6. Hi there I've just hooked up an amp using the rear speaker inputs rather than RCA input. There is a bit of hiss when volume is low. Is this normal and will unning off RCA's help. Thanks Ben
  7. A place in artarmon can do them (can't remember the name) - a few other places said they have to do ones that have a fixed base. Thule is the brand and completely removable. The place in artarmon also distributes them to other shops that may be more local... R33 4 door was $264 I'm about to get some.
  8. bump
  9. It might be too late - you find out they are crap drivers once they are dead or killed someone else. Even a performance driving course will not weed out the bad from the good. And then you have many guys and girls that dont want to drive fast at all..why should they have to pass a performance driving course just so they can drive at the speed limit. Fact is these cars and many others are being driven too fast. You take away the high performance cars, the speeds they crash at will be lower, temptation may not be as great etc etc. It's ok to admit other people may have a point and also to not think your driving is perfect...that can be dangerous, resting on your lauerels or something like that
  10. ALl good - check basics first!! Must be loose wire...
  11. I was wondering whether anyone knows why my Panasonic changer isnt working. I unplugged the CD changer (at the changer unit). And now I plugged it back in and it isn’t working. I even left the battery off for a while for it to reset. Is there something you have to press to get it recognised again. I hit the CD changer button on the head unit and nothing happens (radio still works) It is a panasonic double din head unit and Panasonic CD changer. Many thanks
  12. 78vb - good for you, a lucky one (or your a good driver). Just listen to the post above from someone else. I know some people can drive, but what you say is naieve - Poor conditions, bad tyres and a RWD car could catch a few out. There is obviously a problem with some of the drivers out there, proper training would be good. Banning high performance cars for a few years till the P platers have more road experience can't make things worse!! Also save them a bit of money - and maybe their life/friends life. I know a few capable ones will miss out. But hey plenty of years for fast cars. As I said go go karting, get a chick, go surfing etc. Better than cars anyway That's it for me. I'm over it- well not really. Just hate to see people dying in such a senseless way. Any reasonable way to help reduce this is good in my books.
  13. You're the one kidding right? Many young Drivers can lose it in a corolla. V6 commodores are pretty powerful, big torquey engines newer ones that is P platers take risks.. I know it - I was there not long ago. not saying I'm perfectly safe now just more experienced and less likely to have a rush of adrenalin I know I use to push it a lot harder back then. if you drive a car at its limits you can lose it in anything. High powered cars = more likely to want to find this limit, speeds will be higher, less time to react
  14. Point is there is a lot less skylines on the road and imports compared to commonhores, camry's etc yet they seem to make the news quite often, killing several occupants. It is no doubt these cars encourage speed and have a different kind of power delivery than other normal cars out there. Other cars want to take you on too. I reckon there should be a P plate ban on performance cars (even a V6 commo can be too much pwer through RWD for a lot of P platers esp. in the wet)..get a go kart or something if into speed. Controlled environment wins. Take the skylines to the track!
  15. bump - anyone
  16. Nobody hads roofies on their skyline?
  17. bump
  18. Hahha - give us a break. Need to get the surboard on top...
  19. stock falcons and commodores are getting pretty quick. commo and falcon = more torque. Hate to say it but it may be close. Yours would be a much better car though! Just dont race them
  20. Hi there. I'm trying to get a cheap set of roof racks for the 4door. Thule want about $260 which isn't too bad. Does anyone know where I can get some second handies or cheaper than that. I'd prefer if they didn't damage the paint etc. Thanks ben
  21. Cars aren't meant to be idled for long periods. I just drive mine straight off but limit revs to below 2.5k and only small throttle openings for atleast a few minutes. Wait about 5 mins till you start going much harder than that. I usually let it idle for about 1 min after a trip. But most of the time I take it easy at the end of the trip (coast in neutral down hill or driving quietly through car park) so may not even idle it. Some say it warms up quicker if you drive it softly for a while rather than idling which can be of benefit, without thrashing it of course..
  22. Can somebody please PM me if they have a set to suit the R33 sedan. Thanks Ben
  23. Right... Is the oil pressure light run from another pressure sender/switch. So you think I would hear valvetrain noise if the pressure was this low? On a cold start if the car has sat there for a day or 2 the oil light will come on for about 1 second after cranking then go off. I've never seen the oil light come on during driving/idling.
  24. Haha - I'm after the same bit. I think I'm gong to get a bit of tin and bend it to provide the resistance needed. haedake - Do you have the standard gear knob? If so what nic is it in?
  25. I'm with you No markings on the side so maybe these aren't retreads. Although you can take your tyres to a place and get them retread right? Or do they usually just give you some as swap overs? I'll take it easy on them anyway as they are a fairly cheap brand.
