  1. Could be the converter, can't remember why but was told that awhile ago, something to do with the lock up clutch or something
  2. I too have the same problem with room and not being able to buy something off the shelf, I purchased a merge collector from someone who manufactures them for a living. Thumbs up to making your own manifold to, something that not everyone can do. Not sure if you have done this yet but I have been told that you need to rack the whole manifold together first so you can have all the runners in the right spot. Let me know if you want the place where I got my merge collector from. A fella here in Perth told me the standard exhaust manifold fitted in his Ranna RB25 swap.
  3. Wow what a beast, that 990 would haul ass
  4. got in too late but this is how I am feeling today !
  5. Lol No I just f**ked up, too tired and hung over and jumped the gun
  6. Oh no way man you will be finished way before me. I have been gathering parts etc while dragging my ass ( not literally like a dog) getting shit done around the house, start my build next month. Have been buy parts when cash is available and thankfully I have majority of the exy stuff now so it is all my own labour to come. Nothing real flash really, not looking to join the 300 killa wasp class yet just after a good responsive daily that doesn't draw too much attention from the plod. Normal mods like forward facing Freddy manifold, high mount exhaust manifold with IWG gtx3076, looking at the .63 housing as well for response same as you, Ps 2000 Haltech with long loom and perhaps flex fuel so I can run E85 when I update the Std injectors and throttle body for now until the need for more speed oh and the cash allows lol I hear good things about Galvsport, talked to them a few times and always been helpful, I go through a mate Peter up at Gidgie motors up in the hills now though. Cheers and look forward to your end results
  7. G day Lith an M@&k Very interested to see your end of day results and thanks for the updates. I am in the process of a similar build. Cheers
  8. Not sure how much it would cost but I know mighty car mods did a YouTube vid on bringing in a half cut and did mention a company that they used
  9. Interesting read all Have a question though which may seam a bit silly E10 should be the same Straya wide hey, my local servo sells E10 and they say it's 95 octane Any idea what's up with that Happy Straya day all
  10. Hi Nick Ain't that the truth My car when completed will weigh between 1100 to 1200 kg and it's going to be a daily driver, not a drift or time attack car. Not looking to squeeze every last ounce of performance out of her but I still want to enjoy myself also. Can't knock a fella who wants to have a go hey. Once completed I'm going to get a steal plate cut out that says (home built) and weld in place on the first runner For me it's the satisfaction of making it myself as you say and once I obtain the correct skills I will be able to use them in the rest of the car. For you and I it's not just a case of buying a manifold as there isn't one that suits our build, always wanted to build a steam pipe manifold for my turbo diesel also so may give that a go sometime too. Cheers
  11. All good guys and thank you for the advice. I am going to build the manifold myself, CnC collectors can be purchased for a reasonable price as can the flanges. My build is unique as in as far as I know what I am doing hasn't been done with this engine before, therefore many things will be have to be custom made. At the end of the day if the manifold I make doesn't perform as well as a professionally made one there are benefits and downfalls I learn a new skill and can do other custom parts/ jobs If it works I save money If for some reason I balls it up and it doesn't work then at least I can send what I have off to a pro so they have a template to go by, and I have still learnt a skill. All up for me the upside out ways the down side.
