red900ss replied to red900ss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction

red900ss replied to red900ss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks guys, I had it on good advice to replace the coil packs so what can you do? I'll check the springs, I have to admit I didn't bother as they were brand spanking new. Excellent info in that thread Nightman, thanks! It may be an injector, but it's smooth as a babies bum between idle and 3500rpm????? Nope, it's not the clutch Sherrif. -
Help please...R33 missing >3500rpm and at idle
red900ss posted a topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi all, Series 1 R33 GTS25-t, stock Engine starts to miss badly at around 3500rpm, sometimes ~4000, sometimes 4500. Tacho flicks around, no backfiring or popping. It does it under load, no load and also when you knock it back a gear on deceleration. Always around the same rpm. Will not go anywhere near redline. Stock boost guage is indicating 350mm, bit hard to get higher than that as it won't rev high enough to get "2nd stage". Idle is also rough, with a bit of surging. It was suggested I changed the coil packs and have just done this with no change to the problem. I also chenged the plugs when the problem first arose. It seems to me like it's electrical but ?????????? Any help much appreciated...... -
December SAU NSW monthly dinner - 30/12/2004 yep it is on the 30th!

Well I dunno about that....Mal was there. -
can anyone help me remove the stock steering wheel?
red900ss replied to CerealKiller's topic in New South Wales
CerealK, try it at 10 o'clock 2 o'clock and 6 o'clock hitting perpendicular to the shaft axis. Heel of your hand should be enough. Don't worry about fore and aft direction hits. If all that fails park somewhere like a beach/shopping centre carpark, grab the wheel and shake the bejeesus out of it while making a noise like like a dying moose. You may get on telly. Never know the wheel may pop off too. -

Yeah I got that too Paul. Seems like there's something fishy going on. "The ARDC advised us a few weeks ago that we had to place a tender for the exclusive rights to run ride days at Eastern Creek. Unfortunately the ARDC have decided that we are no longer eligible to conduct ride days at Eastern Creek." So are the ARDC trying to get 1 operator to run all the events (Highest bidder?) or is this the downstream effect of the Coroner's finding on "the Judge" accident? Maybe the impending scrutiny of all track/ride days, as I was told the Dept of Sport and Rec. would be doing, has commenced. Whatever the reason, lack of competition cannot be a good thing.... Now where did I put that cotton wool blanket?????

:werd: And condolences to the emergency services personnel who are continually confronted by the ultimate results of these peoples' actions and lack of common sense.
