  1. Scott, How much for the 225/45/17's? Also the 215/4017's? A mate of mine is looking for 225's, and I think I'll be needing the 215's now. Can you also send me some pics of the rims you have for sale please? Any pics you have of any tyres too. either PM them, or send them to [email protected] cheers Mate Scott
  2. Yep did it all. It's the first time I've ever heard of bleeding them with the engine running too. I just hope I don't have a sick brake booster.
  3. I've just faxed my entry in this morning... I'm preparing myself to be well and truely left behind on the straights

    window tinting

Can they remove old tint film? Mine has turned purple, and is bubbling at the top of the doors.
  5. Hi guys. After I fitted my braided brake lines, I bled the brakes with the engine off. This is how I've always done this, usually with good results. It came up great after 3-4 bleeding sessions. Rock hard pedal, nice feel, NO air bubbles what so ever. When I started the car up, the pedal dropped a heap load. Still pulls up better, but the pedal is really low, with little feel. I told one of the guys here at work ,and he said to bleed the system with the car idling, due to the fact that it has power assisted brakes. His explaination was that, if you don't do this, it will leave you with a airblock in that part of the system. Has anyone ever heard of this? What do you'll do?
  6. The rotors are 270mm, 24mm thick. So they're not huge. They are RDA's, sister Company for DBA. They even use the same catalogue numbering system. In the last few weeks, I think I've found out that I can use WRX specific pads in the front end without doing any mods. Infact, the TX's frictional area is larger than that of the pads Legacy/wrx. The cradles are basically the same, except for mounting points. That's why I'm looking at using legacy twin piston calipers up front.
  7. I seem to have cooked my RB74's at Calder. when I swapped in my new rotors, I had a quick look, and they are crumbling away and everything. Changed colour to a white/gold colour. The Comp 2's I have in the rear, haven't changed colour since I put them in..... Considering the weight (1200kg) and braking capability of my car, I would expect them to last a bit longer than a few trackdays. Although, I did get the rotors glowing at one stage, but it sure wasn't anything like Andrews or some of the Rex boys. Not really all that impressed with the RB74's. I reckon I had similar braking capabilty with the Kmart pads the car had in when I got it...
  8. David Bailey, the photography, will be there tonight, with pictures for sale. This are professional style A4 prints. He can also do A3 prints. He will have photos of the last few Winton fundays, as well as Calder park. For more info, call David on 0421 973 558. Andrew is aware he will be there too. So you may be able to contact him.

You can have mine for $30. PM me.
  10. I'm encouraging the old man to come down to the club meet. I may not be there. I'm sure I can find him a minder for the night I've also given him the heads up about Winton pics too. The next drift day, I may see if I can organise a photographers pass or something, and if the old man can't get out there, I'll get trigger happy instead.
  11. I'm there too. Printed out the regs nd entry today. Hopefully I'll fax it through this arvo.
  12. I second that. Al, your a champ.
  13. Roy, only 2 sec quicker than me mate. I managed a 1.17.716....
  14. Well just looking at the timesheets, I managed a 1.17.716 at Calder. Pretty happy with that.
  15. Well guys, what an awesome time that was!!! For my first CAMS day, it was nuts! the Super Sprints was defenantly a highlight, along with holding off that Porsche down the main stragiht!! Not forgeting loosing all brakes at the end of the back straight too. Things on the upgrade list include going over to an LSD and some bigger brakes. I have Looked at Daves photo's and there are some nice shots. There are a few sohts of people crossed up a tad through the S' during the wet practice laps. Gareth and Ant's spins were also caught! A few small wheel lifts and Troy crossed up in a big way. The night time shots are pretty good, with Andrew's rotors red in colour (but the photo is out of focus)
  16. Are front and rear brakes still available?
  17. David Bailey Photography will be down taking photo again. He has a CD with images from the last Winton day too. For those who are interested.
