  2. Oh BTW, just to clarify...it wasn't me.
  3. More importantly, did you win? Lol, j/k. U are lucky GunmetalR33 I have never pulled up against another Skyline at the lights it always seems to be WRX's or Commodores???
  4. Sounds like the alternator has decided to pack it in. I'd get a check on the battery to make sure it definately isn't low and needs replacing, otherwise the alternator isn't charging it properly and will either need a new unit or reconditioning. Do your dash lights go dim when you try to turn the car on? Anyway hope that helps.
  5. Hey Morgs did the alternator get sold? Is it the same as a R32 GTST's? I need a new one i think as the bushes are worn on mine and it isn't charging properly, anyway let us know cheers.
  6. Who installed the clutch? Does it make the hissing sound if you pump the clutch in neutral? Might be that it wasn't bled properly. You can adjust the friction point to suit driving needs...sounds like yours is too low...had a similar problem with my Daiken Exedy installed a couple of months ago and had it re-adjusted and the system re-bled problem fixed and no more "hiss" noise..
  7. I have a genuine GTR front bar on my 32 GTST and the fit isn't snug but it is the toughest bar ever! Plastic takes a hell of a beating on anything the concrete decides to throw at it -cept wildlife....My only complaint is the plastic lip doesn't hold up against curbs or speedbumps or steep driveways! Be warned as i think replacement genuine lips aren't cheap (who am i kidding...what Skyline stuff is????) PS: The genuine bars make the GTST look a little wider from front views...very tough and cool!
  8. Hi all, i've been dabbling into getting an entirely new suspension setup and have my eyes on the HKS Hypermax 2 coilover kits. My ride is an R32 GTST with an RB25DET running a GCG Stage 2 450HP turbo, etc. A mate of mine has an adjustable HKS setup (not Hypermax an older version) which is probably the best handling setup i've ridden so far in terms of a street car. I'm currently running non adjustable Nismo lowered springs and Bilstein shocks. This is fine for the street and quite comfortable...not too harsh at all. I also have a set of aftermarket Jap springs (no idea what brand) that pretty much give me neutral chassis balance in corners. With the Nismo springs i have quite alot of body roll...handles like a whale. The jap no-name springs however bring the ride to borderline annoying and very stiff (probably more suited to track...and makes my car lowered to the shithouse). I know HKS make a Hypermax Performance series of coilovers too (just to be confusing) But i'm assuming these are more suited to track... More details. With the stiffer lower springs i had traction problems in my car as it is pumping out in the vicinity of over 200kws at the wheels. My rears are Falken Azenis 255/45's and fronts are some Continental brand 225/40's (The tyre difference is playing havoc with my Hicas too) So i guess i am also wondering whether i should retain my current setup or try the HKS one, would this make a difference in terms of traction probs or would i have to sacrifice this in the pursuit of better handling? Does anyone have the HKS setup or similar...just would like to know how the adjustable coilovers of this particular brand would do? Or are they too harsh for a street ride. I'd still like to retain some sort of comfortability and not feel every bump on the road but would like my handling to be A LOT better. Perhaps some comparisons would be good too...alongside Whiteline & other packages available, etc.... Anyway any help would be great - cheers.
  9. Lol, Terminal..and all this time i thought u had a white 33 like the one in ur avatar! Urs isn't the one on Haydon Drive in belco i see quite a bit? 400R front bar as well? :wavey:
  10. White R33 GTST heading along Drakeford dr this arvo and then a wingless Burgundy R33 with chromies in Phillip this evening.
  11. Gunmetal grey R32 GTST with white deep dish rims
  12. Cool! Come out to tha next cruise, that way we won't have to run into ya at Video Ezy!!!! On the spotted front: Today around 3.30pm on Sulwood Dr. a black R32 GTST , gave the man a fist pump and got jack in return (ok so I wasn't in the Skyline so maybe had something to do with it.)! Earlier today on Melrose Dr. a dark blue R33 GTST which i've also seen at Tez a number of times. .......Also, not a spotted but will put in here anyway, last Friday night coming home from Civic my mate Phil in his 32 GTST got chopped by MickGTR on that big roundabout that goes past Woden Pitch n Putt. Lol, Mick's kill roster 1. Ferarri F355 2. Phil's R32 GTST... J/k. It was a brave effort!
  13. That was me! Yeah just there with a mate. What car were you in Sigsputnik? Can't imagine how me missed another line turn up?
  14. I used to have a HKS Super Power Flow pod filter mounted at the very bottom of my car and damn that was loud - Those mushroom style filters are the go if ur into ear piercing induction. Don't have it no more Its now flat as a pancake (long story!) Bloody hard to replace as the kits are either ordered direct from Japan or get em through BD4's who are the only HKS dealer (charge a fortune) I think Unique used to have em as well but other than that very hard to get.
  15. Seen some really tough 180's getting around yesterday both Gunmetal grey. One along that blackmountain road heading to Belco, had big chromies and some white decals down the side, looked shmick, another on Ginninderra drive. The other day also saw a silver R34 GTT with GTR bodykit, looked tough - heading southbound on the parkway. Finally saw Aurora driving through Woden cpl days ago. Man that is some loud induction noise, Hks/Trust pod filter methinks??
  16. Pics, more coming......... http://www.users.on.net/jmontalto/Photography.html http://www.smorhun.com/pages/shogun/march/...rral/index.html http://www.syndicatemotorsports.org/galler...ruise/index.htm
  17. Amaru, Me & two other mates with Skylines will be there - Dunno bout the whole cruise tho, but definately for part of it and meet and greet. So add 3 more Skylines to the list....Woooooot!
  18. Woohoo! That was me! Finally been spotted! Veilside R33, too bad you can't come to the cruise on Sunday mate - your car is sweet. Wouldn't mind having a closer look. On the spotted front: White R33 GTST with GTR wing had the measure of a pee-yellow coloured BA Falcon, hammering down Haydon Dr this arvo around 1.30pm lunchtime. Very nice sounding car.
  19. 666 Dan R u n/a? I've heard the Clio Sports R pretty quick for a non-turbo frontwheel drive.
  20. Leech did you end up getting the car?
  21. Woah, feel sorry for ya man. Usually if you are buying a fast car from a young bloke there is the possibility that it may be out on a massive loan - always do a Revs check on the intended purchase (Is the safest way - as Blackdoggette mentioned) There is also a point where if there is money still owing by the seller and the loan is not registered with Revs you can purchase a certificate from em to barr any repossesion from a loan credit place or bank. I assume this was private sale? Private saleis the easiest way to get a bargain & also the easiest way to get into trouble. Watch out there are plenty of shady private sellers out there! Hope everything works out for ya. Fingers crossed!
  22. In Manuka yesterday, spotted that Burgundy R32 GTST with big t-wing doing the rounds on Franklin Street & Mick's GTR parking @ Shell (still can't get over how good those rims R!)
  23. I can understand the animosity of 92-94 model R32 GTR owners - Personally i don't think the value of these cars will be affected too much (not the worked one's anyway). Predator makes a highly valuable point about how many of these 89 imports will be up for sale in 6-12 months because of ppl who bought em in cheap and begin the fixing up process - only to find it's way more than they bargained for. The flood will start this year because many won't be imported till later like Sept - Dec 2004. I think in the latest HPI, Ben Ellis talks about how buying a GTR is one thing but affording it is something totally different - The running costs of these cars is expensive. A mate of mine reckons that purchasing these 89 GTR's may be something of a lucky dip - some may just get lucky and pick up a real bargain. Don't get me wrong, I do believe there are good examples of 89 models out there - but i don't reckon its as many as some reckon there are. On the note of it being a waste buying a near stock example - When i was looking to purchase one earlier this year I talked to many mechanics in Sydney - namely from the more experienced workshops (Advan, Croydon, etc) who said you're better of buying a near stock example of a 32 R anyway - coz at least you're not inhereting any probs with a worked car. But I for one can see the benefits of a well tuned R with plenty of expensive gear that would cost twice as much if you put it on yourself. Horses for courses - depends how far you'd want to take the car in the 1st place. I really do hope there are lots of good examples out there, as myself like many others are skeptical so i'm keen to see what ppl get. I reckon it'd be good to get a thread going with opinions of buyers of the 89 models (not just GTR) once these cars start arriving in due course.
  24. The R34 GTR badges are the only one's that are different (subtle changes, but still noticeable at a standstill) Anyone correct me if i'm wrong, HPI GTR special no1 states this.....? The fake one's that are mashed onto GTST's don't look completely right... they look smaller and very toyish :thumbdwn: (unless its a genuine one of course).
  25. John Wilson did my car. He is a top bloke and will give ya a discount if u mention how poor you are. (He takes pity on young blokes with awesome cars trying to get over rego) Is getting a GTR himself (He also owns two 20B cosmo's. He's the best engineer around and does a top job. Also he is one of the only other members of the public to have a set of keys to the old drag strip!
