We had a VERY heavily modified R34 GTR sent back to Japan and the shipping company f**ked around and told us the car would sit in Brisbane for a week as the boat that was meant to go to Yokohama was actually going to Hong Kong. We didn't get much sleep that week Thankfully nothing happened to it otherwise it would have been a rather expensive re-imbursement bill to the owner.
I assume your car has already been sent??? if not do what NXTIME suggested and have your broker remove all "stealable items" (Gear knob, headunit, turbo timer, boost controller, gauges etc...) from the car and have them sent to your home via EMS.
It's a real detriment to the import industry unfortunately however until AAT take control of all docks this kind of thing will continue...
