  1. yeh it's not something to worry about.... sounds cool hahaha
  2. R34 Getrag's handle 700hp no worries (provided you don't hammer them on gearchanges and do massive launches all the time). However the conversion to a Getrag for an R32 or R33 will set you back around $20,000. (including a custom made Nismo tailshaft which can take 6 months to make) For a GTR 5 Speed, PAR can do a strengthened gearset for $6100 ready to bolt in. 1 ~ 3 straight cut, 4th, 5th helical cut. Dual synchro's in 3rd and 4th (like the late R33 GTR boxes). The boxes are still easily driveable although you will hear gearbox whine from straight cut gears. That'd be your best option IMHO to strengthen up your gearbox for big power.
  3. N1's had Engine Oil Coolers
  4. Carline Mufflers Gladesville. Peter and Craig still, I'd go for a Japanese System... buy it, 20 mins to fit it... off you go
  5. if the Docks in Port Kembla are still controlled by the same group who do Glebe now (I forget their name), then there'll be no security issues to worry about The old dodgy wharfies were all booted out and the new guys came in and took control. Wharf security has improved out of sight since and we haven't had any issues since the change over. I surely hope they will continue to be run by the same guys... Roger and Kelly down there are good and it'll be sad to see them go.
  6. I assume your in Finland by your details so I'll go with that If you buy a decent one then you'll have very few things to do. The last Nur we brought in had nothing that needed to be fixed or changed on it. Bring it in, comply it, rego it, drive it... easy A good 99 V -Spec with genuine k's will set you back around 4,000,000 Yen (29,093.91 Euro's @ 137.486 JPY) upwards. Sometimes you can get them for about 3,500,000 Yen if they are not such a desirable colour (blue, black, white are desirable colours, yellow and silver not so much). Budget to pay upto 4,800,000 Yen for a good 99 V Spec and you'll get one that you wont have to worry about. Having said that ALWAYS make sure you get the auction report translated so you know as much about the car as possible (i.e. wear and tear, tiny scratches etc...). Being in Finland I would reccomend you contact Andy Middlehurst in the UK who will be ableto help you out a fair bit with these cars... you should be able to find his contact details on www.gtr.co.uk Good Luck with your purchase, you wont be disappointed

  17. That has to be one of the lamest comments I've ever read on this forum.... You're in control of your car..... drive within your limits
  18. not sure what other models they included this in. I'd expect every turbo vehicle after the B4 would have had it included.
  19. That's not always the case..... Manufacturers don't include turbo timers in the cars to save costs. Anyone that's owned a WRX would know this.... Manufacturers always put a warning in inside the cabin to say that if the car has been driven hard or done alot of freeway driving, to let it idle for 30 sec ~ 2 mins to let the car cool down before shutting it off. WRX's have them as a sticker near the drivers door latch. My MR2 had it written on the underside of the sun visor along with other warnings. The temperatures achieved with normal or even "spirited" street driving aren't dangerous enough to cause any damage to the turbo. (Unless you have cooling issues) Therefore this statement isnt necessarily correct. The temperatures achieved ARE dangerous enough to cause damage to the turbo and hence why there is a warning inside the car to tell you to cool it down. Turbo Timers are essentially a little convenience IMHO. It lets the car cool down while you can lock it and go on about your business, negating the need for you to sit in the car while it idles for a couple of minutes (which can seem like an eternity when you're in a hurry). Having said that, Subaru in particular (and I'm sure other manufacturers) have developed a system to cool the turbo down properly when the car is shut off. It keeps pumping water and oil through the turbo to sufficiently cool it down before completely shutting off. This was first introduced on the Liberty B4 and allows you to shut the car off immediately without fear of damaging your turbo and without the need to install a turbo timer in the vehicle. Hope this has helped
  20. maybe..... will see
  21. Mark uses JUNBL Mufflers. Nothing to do with Jun Auto Mechanic. hey williamsf1, has Marky Mark still got the S15 (which he refers to as the S one five)?? Haven't seen him out drifting in a while....
