  1. Hopefully someone that has recently registered an 89 import can fill me in on their experiences. I’ve read in a few places that you need to change your tires when you get a car over from Japan as the jap types haven passed Australian road standards. One of my friends recently registered an 89 car and no one asked him what type of tires he had on his and got registered no probs. So should I invest in a new set even if the car I’m getting (arrives tomorrow) has a set that still has a ton of tread on them. Any insight would be Great.
  2. I dont know about you guys but in a few years time when i bore of my R32 ill prolly import another car. If i was to go the way about stating that I am not going to do this just to safe a few hundred bucks i lose my chance to import more cars as i assume you wont get approval since you signend a form saying you wernt going to do this. Id rather not cut myself short on furture options just for a few hundred bucks that I will easly save by importing my next car
  3. Damn was hoping to dodge getting new tyres for compliance by swapping with a friends, guess im outa luck...
  4. Hey guys Did a search for this and came up with nothing. Is the stud patern on a R32 GTS-T the same as on a '89 180sx? In other words will the wheels from a 180 fit onto my 'line? Thanks
  5. well its been 3 long months since i found my car, modded nicely should be a beast and the wait is almost over now. july build but due to waiting on ceratin parties for paperwork and whatnot should be complianced an on road early sep with luck.
  6. Hey who ya importing with? my skyline im getting through j-spec is supposed to come through on the 20th. do you know the name of the ship its going on?
  7. Ive been caught doing 67 in a 60 zone by a camerra on ther other side of the road facing me. Maybe they only got them in Vic or something but they can definately get you no matter what direction your heading.
  8. Just a few interesting facts. 89GRT first made in August so earliers you can import is then. Canada also has a 15year rule. So it isnt just us Australians looting throught Japan for cars. So prety much there a lot of people from 2 countries looking for good cars, hence rarity and price rises. That is all.
  9. From what i understand all non standard mods on any car not going for the 15year rule needs to be bought back to total stock to be complianced. That means that if it has an aftermarket exhaust/intercooler on it it will be removed, scrapped(you dont get to keep it) and you need to get a stock one put back onto the machine. Tho it would be ideal to bring one over with those mods, since they need ot be removed ist just more cost for you. Get a totally stock car to save yourself some effort/cash.
  10. Man I cannot belive noone on this site has used or seen one of these. Comeone I thought you guys would know a little moer about performance parts than this.
  11. Hey guys hows it going. New to this forum so i hope you can help me out. MY car which is in Japan awaiting approval from the government to be allowed to come over and has a rebic computer in it, mechanic in his report thinks it is a rebic iii but through my research i belive its a rebic 2. Anyhow i have no idea how to use this and i have e-mailed and searched the web for 2 weeks looking for instrucations to no avail. Hoping you guys can come up with some answers. (see attached pic)
