  1. I'm not overly mechanicaly oriented but i'll give you the best explanation i can. A fuel cut defender is actually a device that when installed will 'trick' the computer into thinking that the car is running less boost than it actually is. In the case of an RB25 skyline, the fuel cut defender is wired up to your airflow meter. When air flows through the airflow meter, it sends a message back to the computer via a voltage level to let the computer know how much fuel it must inject into the motor for the given boost level that the car is running. Just before the factory boost cut is activated by the stock ecu, it holds the airflow signal coming through the airflow meter at that point so the computer only thinks its running say 10psi of boost. Therefore, no matter what psi you turn the boost up to, say 14, it is only injecting enough fuel for 10psi. The car won't hit boost cut but it will make the engine lean out very quickly...you will end up pushing your engine home in a shopping trolley. Just for an example, i had mine installed and dynod it to be safe, with only 2 extra pounds of boost the engine went from running filthy rich to dangerously lean. (It had now been removed!!) Moral of the story, get a computer.
  2. !!!!!DO NOT BUY A BOOST CUT DEFENDER!!!! They are a ripoff. I bought one before i full understood what they did. Not good.
  3. Is anyone aware of where an RB25DET engine recieves its boost reference signal from, Is it from a MAP sensor of from the airflow meter?? Cheers.
  4. You may be able to book a spot but i would strongly reccomend getting there early because it will be a %$&^% to try and control it.
  5. Hey fellas, just letting you know TM is having another dyno day on the 19th of June (saturday) drop me a pm if you are interested so i can book you a spot!
  6. With those mods your car should be putting out about 155rwkw or 210 rwhp (approximately) Correct me if i'm wrong guys!
  7. If your intersted, TM AUTOSPORTS on the central coast has a 4WD dyno, last dyno day they moved 45 cars through, everything was well organised. Post if your interested. Its in a quiet street with plenty of parking.
  8. dans 180 has only just been rebuilt, it was in the workshop on display but i don't think its been tuned yet so it didnt run. I think the biggest surprise of the day was the GTIR that made 276 kw at all four!
  9. Hey people, Just a quick report on the Dyno day at TM Autosports tuggerah today. Apporx 45 cars were dynoed, I thought i did well to get 159rwkw out of my almost bog stock RB25DET, that is until the Autostyle cars pulled up... The most interesting being the R32 GTR, which made over 400kw at all 4 paws! I was amazed that such a powerful (street driven) car could look so clean. TM Autosports also dif a great job of organising and making the day an enjoyable one for all the participants.
  10. Picies at www.tmautosports.com.au under the 'customer cars' tab on the top toolbar thanks

  12. Hello Guys, I have a problem I need your help with. I want to get a Power FC for my RB25DET. My problem is that the engine was donated from a 98 model 'Laurel' (a japanese lux-o-barge) that came into the country as an auto. I have since converted to manual but have retained the auto ECU. What I need to know is if a standard skyline(R33??) power FC will plug in to the existing loom.
  13. I have one on my car that I am thinking of getting rid of, how much you offering
  14. I can vouch for the Wee jasper road, we go down there caving a fair bit. Nice and quiet with some very good twisty bits
  15. put it on a dyno and let the experts diagnose the problem,is it running rough?does it need a service? By the way where on the coast are you?? Im from around there too!
  16. That does help sydneykid, you answered some of my questions in another thread not long ago, with a 3 inch zorst, bost, gtr cooooooler boost, pod adn maybe an afc i might make some decent power!! As long as i dont get hammered by an ss comme or a falcon i'll be more than happy!
  17. what is the actual process?? Enlarging the exhaust wheels or something?
  18. Thanks mate, that does help alot!! Perhaps i will have to look at getting an safc or something to help the problem. I thought 14 psi was the safe level!! 12psi might be a better option by the sound of it.
  19. if it means ripping out all the interior and carpet or something then i dont want to know about it!! Or do you mean things like tyre pressure, clutch etc?? come on!! I just want to know an apporximate rwkw figure!!
  20. Here is an age old question, how much power do you think i will have at the wheels with the following mods guys?? RB25det *Turbo back mandrel bend staino exhasut *Pod filter-re positioned outside engine bay *GTR front mount cooler *Boost controler 13-14 psi Any info would be great, I figure someone might have some similar mods who can shed some light for me!
