I have just been having a bit of a think about upgraded turbo selection for a RS4 Stagea and if the specs should be different to a turbo for a Skyline if the same results are desired. I had planed to get a 250kw GCG high flow job for My R33 and may one day want to do an upgrade on the Stagea. Would the ideal turbo specs for a Stagea be the same as for the Skyline or would a turbo with different characteristics be more suitable when considering the Stageas extra weight and auto trans? I am guessing you would want it to develop peek boost at or just before the torque converter stall / lock up

As we all know series 1 Stagea only came with the normal non triptronic auto but the series 2 came with the same auto but with tiptronic shifting functionality. Has any one thought about adapting a series 2 tiprtonic system to a series 1 or making a module / switching system to allow tiptronic shifting? I remember when I was researching putting a Lexus 1UZ V8 into a Volvo I came across instructions for setting up a tiptronic style shifter to control the auto box. In the Lexus the auto trans control computer and engine management computer are combined and if going to aftermarket management the auto would not shift. They were getting around this by wiring up a 5 position rotary switch that gave current to certain wires to control what gear was select and lock up the torque converter. I assume that the Stagea auto must work the same way. If someone with a bit of electronic smarts had a play around they could probably work out what signals the ECU was sending to the trans to get it to select each gear and lock up the torque converter. It would probably then be possible to bypass the ECU and manually control the trans shifting with some sort of combination switch or through a module that takes inputs form two click switched on the steering wheel.

You dont have to be in Melboune. It's repalacment came from Perth -
Thanks guys. Part of my reason for getting a Stagea is that I am sick of the bad attention that I have been getting in the Skyline. So far the Stagea seems to just get annoying attention I just hope it stays that way and that dip shits don’t get into them and spoil it for everyone. Leech Yeah that’s it in my Gallery pics

Time to sell the Skyline It’s a white R33 GTS25t manual 4 door type M It was imported two years ago with 70,000km and was auction grade 4 it now has 98,000 km, I have serviced it every 5,000km using Motal oil. It is essentially stock but has Whiteline suspension bits in it and I have just spent $600 getting the windows tinted. It also has a tow bar rated to 850kg that I had fitted to tow my motorbike (only 300kg). Apart from a few minor stone chips on the front bar this car is immaculate; I have even had some people think it was a new car. I don’t think the back seats have even been used. It has been kept under cover day and night and barely even driven in the rain. I love this car and don’t want to sell it but I need something I can use to tow my rally car. I have just paid the rego and have a valid RWC for it. $18,500 ONO I am in the outer north east of Melbourne and the car can also be viewed at work in Campbellfield. Mob: 0439 304 903 Chris

I picked it up Friday arvo from the transport company’s depot and had a rather interesting drive home. It turned more heads and attracted more comments than any car I have ever driven and I drive a fair share of attention attracting cars (Mustang, Dato 1600 Rally car and many Holden and Ford unreleased models and engineering test cars. 1. Van Goon Van Goon - What the Fcuk is that? Me - A Stagea Van Goon - What the Fcuk is a Stagea? Me - A Nissan wagon with GTR drive line Van Goon - Sweet I bet it goes quick Me - Yeah I think so Van Goon - Dose it have Boost? Green Light 2. Pintara bogans Pintara bogans - What type or car is that? Me - Nissan Pintara bogans - Then why dose it have a Suzuki badge on it Me - It’s a Stagea Badge Pintara bogans - A what badge? I thought is was a Nissan Me - It is, It’s a Skyline wagon. Pintara bogans - Awesome a turbo wagon just what you want. Green Light It also attracted a fair bit of attention from kids and their Mums in their SUV’s and people movers. Could prove to be a good ice breaker with the bored house wives. :boobs:

Thanks for the some times useful replies. I will only be using the unedited photos straight out of the camera. I was actually looking for a for CSI style digital enhancement to be able to read the numberplate, car id or see the driver. But the other work is most entertaining. The random farmer is my old man so not really an independent whiteness. He now has a gut ake from laughing at the incriminating photos. I will take the how can it be justified that I get fined for it when a cop car dose it too. It must be safe. I also have a few other strong arguments and can get written statements from a few people stating that the nature of the corner dictates that it is natural and safer to straiten the corner. The tyres are on wheels I borrowed to put on the car for a few weeks while I was waiting for my new wheels to arrive. My stock 16 where getting close to unroadworthy and I didn’t want to lash out for tyres to put on them when I was getting new 17’ in a few weeks.

Cop caught red handed on camera doing exactly what he fined me for. Just before Christmas I had a rather unpleasant run-in with two fine officers on my way home from work in my Skyline. I was on a road just a few km from home that I have driven along 1000’s of times. When I saw two cops a few corners up ahead, one on a bike and the other an undercover SS. I slowed right down and just coasted up to them thinking they had the road closed because of and accident or something. As soon as I pulled up they pounced on me, one breathalysed me the while the other started crawling all over my car looking for things to defect me for. After about 20 min trying to defend my self and explain to them that they were out of line I left with a $138 2 pint fine for “Failing to keep left of centre of the road” and a Major defect notice for having a tow bar fitted and un road worthy tyres. (Photo attached for your curiosity) They accused me of being a drifter, doing burnouts, told me I should just get a Falcon and that they were there to catch drivers like me. I have since got the defect notice cleared with no repairs to the car required and Vic Roads telling me I should never been defected and have decided to object to the failing to keep left of centre of the road fine. Earlier today I thought I would go take some photos of the corner for my defence. I parked my car and started walking up towards the corner while getting my camera ready, I look up and see a highway patrol car coming over the rise heading into the corner in which I was fined for no keeping left, I switched the camera on and started taking photos the cop went right over the canter line in the same location and manner that I was fined for. I was so excited I almost wet my pants and did a little dance. It was the same cop who fined me I gave him the thumbs up as he went past. The camera was a was a bit slow and I only managed to get two shots off but they clearly show him failing to keep left and unfortunately I was too late to get him on the apex of the turn where he was half way over the line. If any one can zoom in and tidy up the photos to make them look as incriminating as possible and maybe try to identify the number plates and driver it would make my day in court even more entertaining.
