Great night guys. AFRO and myself ended up having some more fun on the the drive home with a pumped WRX. Was good fun until limiter kicked in  , then I had to make do seeing the other two take off in the distance. Drop a line when the photo's are posted.

Best suspension for R34
R34GTX replied to kralster's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm sure prices will vary state to state, but from my research I managed to pick them up locally for just over $1k for front and rear shocks. As for the camber kit, 34's already have a fairly aggressive rear camber as stock, so I thought it was piece of mind to buy 2 kits to bring it to negative 1 camber. My thoughts were $120 bucks for 2 kits is cheaper than buying two new tyres. I have never looked back. Having said all this, you haven't mentioned what you intend on doing with the car; daily driver, weekend track work or drift? -
Best suspension for R34
R34GTX replied to kralster's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Late reply I know, but I only just came across your thread. I have put Bilstein Shocks and Whiteline Springs on my 2001 R34GTX-T. It corners like on rails now. Don't forget to get the camber kit too. This could stop you scrubbing your tyres prematurely. Hope this helps. -
That's a shame Chris. I was looking forward to havin a chat re: upgrades. Mate of mine jlnewton said and I quote: "he knows his shitznit". Maybe next time. Pete

Shame your not going on Saturday, other plans? Choyda passed on some notes, but it may be quicker and easier just to plug in the consult interface. PM SENT.
-
Thanks ABO BOB. Keep me posted 666DAN on how you go with your shift kit. Would be nice to see one in action. Hey still going on Saturday? A big thanks to CHOYDA. He just sent me the diagnostics mode entry details, so I'll give that a try when I get home tonight. I will first try the ECU reset and see if it helps at all. Thanks all. Will keep you posted.
-
That's definately an option. Anyone have any luck with the diagnostic codes?? I would still lilke to have a look at that. 666DAN- How do you find the shift kit. I heard some people say that they are noisy and clunky and aren't much good at all??
-
Hmmmm. The manual was the first thing I looked for and I must have overlooked that. I will have another look tonight. 666DAN + NJR 34GTT, Any idea how much these solenoids cost?? Does anyone sell them here, or are they only available OS?
-
Thanks for all the help guys. I've tried a search but can't find exactly how to do the Diagnostics, or how to interpret codes on a R34. Can any of you lads help with the details or a link to a HOW-To guide?

Hi everyone. Tonight I had my first hickup on my 2001 R34GTX-T (Tiptronic). I live on acreage poperty with some nice long empty roads and decided on the way home to stretch the legs on my car a litttle......not a great deal 150km  Everything was great, until I looked at my dash and my AT light had come on. I slowed down to 60km and it was still on. I then pulled up and it disappeared. I went for another blocky 5 minutes later to try and repeat the incident, but everything appears fine?? Just wandering, should I be concerned, have I broken something, has anyone else had this happen before?? Thanks in advance. Pete

Count me in. I'll be there.

CREDIT, You deserve all the credit. You pretty much fitted the lot by yourself. I was just the stooge who handed you the tools. I'm keen for the meet even though I am from Northside. Might even be able to convince jlnewton to come?? Need the exact address as I'm not from around there.
-
I'm in. As long as it is after hours. What do you guys think?
-
I can vouch for the definate handling increase with new tyres and Upgraded suspension. I went down the path of Bilstein shocks and Whiteline springs. Also mixed in with some other Whiteline suspension bits. All I can say is it feels like it's on rails now.
-
Congratulaions on your purchase. Let me know when you get your zorst fitted. Interested in cost and performance increase. Hey rich, where abouts northside you live? I'm up near Morayfield area. Would be good to see another sedan. My drive is a 2001 R34GTX-T Sedan.

I've got Yoko A539's on my 34GTT and they grip well in both wet and dry conditions.

95 Hyundai Excel 3 Door Hatchback......Laugh all you like. Punished everyday of it's life, has driven over 310 thousand K's and still going strong. It has been the best investment I have made to date. Mods: One big arse stereo (in it's day). Infinity Kappa splits, 6X9's and a 12 inch in the boot. Recall racing a "Devil Yellow Mini". Now those were the days. LOL

Does anyone know the screw size and thread type of the screw behind the ashtray on an R34 console? Seems like a stupid request, but my car had this screw missing and now the dash rattles due to this screw missing. Thanks.
-
The car starts perfectly every morning when I drive her out of the garage. (turn key count 1, 2 1/2 START. But on a hot start count 1, 2,- 10 even still won't start. Then I wind back key so no auxiliary is on then wait 20 seconds, then turn key. Count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 then it turns over and starts. It is getting very frustrating.

Thanks Ant for the those details. It is a very informative site. I even found the recall for my little old Hyundai Excel from many years ago in it hehehehe. If I'm reading the site info correctly, only 2 of these recalls can possibly affect my car as my car was made in 8/2000. One of these is ruled out as it is for police cars and the other doesn't list my cars model number. RJ-0887-0 NISSAN SKYLINE 23/12/1998 - 27/04/2001 speedometer RJ-0946-0 NISSAN SKYLINE 25/05/1999 - 31/03/2003 brake lights SO, I guess I am back to square one again.......unless somebody else knows or has experienced this type of problem???
-
No probs. I will be calling Nissan on Tuesday due to the public holiday on Monday.

It will stain somewhat to a darker black, but as everything it will fade over time. If you want your posts to really stain black, see if you can get a hold of some oil form a deisel truck. That will definately stain black and for a long time too.

Happy New Year 4 dr bretheran! NY Wishes?
R34GTX replied to pitchd's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Nothing worse than being sick on New Years Eve mate. Hope you start feeling better soon. My New Years Resolution is to MOD MOD and more MOD, starting with my new suspension. Bring on Queensland Raceway!! And of course "STAY SAFE and STAY LEGAL" -
Living in Queensland on small acreage, I use it protect my timber fence posts. Sure is cheaper than buying the protective timber oils and works just as well. If that's any use for ya??
