  1. Back up a bit kids - for all you know, the car may well be legit and the owner has it at Edward Lee's on consignment, hence the fact that it is also going through Pickles. Given there were only 5 or so sold locally in Australia, you'd have a 0% chance of picking up one for less than $100K, and so that's actually a pretty reasonable price for what it is. Definitely a collectible.
  2. lol actually you make a good point haha
  3. The Cube gets in because of its shape, not because of its power/weight. The regs are there to stop the dungers coming in (I'm sorry but an RB20 R34 is a POS...).
  4. I would've happily bought Pete's car, but circumstances have prevented me from doing so. I don't think I qualify as a kid...
  5. Correct. Would be curious to know how it got here...
  6. I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wanted to buy this, but just couldn't stretch my funds far enough (sorry Pete ) Certainly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some lucky collector.
  7. Actually, I think you'll find a lot more tampering happens at the Australian end than the Japanese end...
  8. Pfft all talk... Besides, don't you know? I'm friends with HESLO
  9. I think it's shit, AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!
  10. Drove mine home from the depot today - seriously there were people pointing and laughing and kids waving at me. I don't think even the GT-R generates that much attention...
  11. Mine is at the transport depot waiting for me to collect it
  12. lol I think you'll find he did already The point is that currently, the changes are not targeting us, but the wording is ambiguous enough that, if you strike the wrong DoTaRS member on the wrong day, anything non-standard could be enough to get it knocked back.
  13. Yeah that trumps mine lol
  14. You already know what it's for surely! It arrived at the transport depot today, picking it up tomorrow if you want to drop by... She saw the coilovers, but she doesn't know the other box contains the 'charger haha I do have another long-term project in the pipeline involving an RB25DE and triple carbs
  15. Try looking for a KGC10 that doesn't have aftermarket wheels or an L28 in it...
  16. The pics were bad but the explanation was worse...
  17. my thoughts exactly...
  18. Step 1: remove cat Step 2: turn off the decel fuel cut on computer Step 3: pay ridiculous amounts of money in fuel to burn rear bar
  19. Upcoming column on this one too lol
  20. I do believe I now have some Cusco coilovers and a supercharger for..........
  21. Believe it or not, some people actually buy them because they're awesome cars to drive...
  22. Yeah it's definitely an attempt to stop retro-rods, but the wording of the changes is so ambiguous that it could theoretically be used against anyone or any car they take a disliking to, and it's forcing people to spend 30 seconds on Google Images and send off a pic of a stock car rather than face possibly thousands of dollars in costs trying to resell their car overseas. I take issue with any new law that puts pressure on otherwise law-abiding citizens to break it.
  23. The big issue is it causes confusion for buyers, in that no-one knows how modified "modified" is. Modified could rule out engine conversions or it could even rule out a set of aftermarket rims. Given that you have to buy the car before you can apply for import approval, it's forcing importers to commit to purchasing a car without really knowing if it will be granted an approval, which is ridiculous. Imagine how much fun it would be having to put your car back through auction in Japan if it got knocked back...
